Bloody Sweet
started with mina, ended with mina. cute story. was a bit thrown off by her acting like fetechou was going to be bad for her at the start. maybe the author hadn’t come up with an ending yet?
Death Is The Only Ending For The Villainess
this was fucking phenomenal. I have read a lot of different manhwa recently. at first, when I started this I thought the concept was simply interesting. But the plot line is absolutely insane. You actually have no idea where the story is going to take you and you have no idea what’s going to happen next. I thought it would be a simple romance, and even if it wasn’t fully completed, at least there would be some romance completed at this point because there’s 162 chapters. But I read all 162 chapters and there was barely any romance until chapter 130 and let me tell you usually that would be a dealbreaker for … me not this time. the writing is actually phenomenal. The art is absolutely beautiful and the character development is amazing. The female lead is absolutely endearing and she’s super realistic. All of the mail leads to some degree are endearing, and I specifically like the male lead that ultimately won her affection. downright amazing phenomenal. I wish I could reread it again for the first time and I really wish I had a genuine conclusion.
Checkmate(TAN)
this was so good. I could’ve been without the rape in the first episode. it kind of confuses me how they were able to brush over that so easily and act like it didn’t happen. I feel like even if he was obsessed he would still be traumatized because that was weird as hell. He never really brushed on that again only for a couple chapters, but I guess the author changed direction at that point. ultimately, I really enjoyed the enemies to lovers dynamic. It was super fulfilling. Also, the plot was pretty good and entertaining enough where there wasn’t too much smut that the plot was second to that overall a good read and also it was nice to see the art improve. It’s kind of crazy how much we saw eunseung change from the start to the end. he really became a softie.
Lost in the Cloud
I loved this. I wish there were a little bit more intimacy that focused a little bit more on the actual romance between the two of them. I feel like that really would’ve been beneficial to have. I think the story was really well done and the art was absolutely beautiful. i adore cirrus and skylar both very complicated character characters that went through various things that don’t always act like good people, but very entertaining none the less. i wish we got to see minwoo again tho
Payback
this was surprisingly deeper than I was anticipating. Initially, it just comes off as a simple revenge story, but the more that we progress through the development of the storyline, we learned that the main character yoohan/taemin is seeking revenge, not against the person itself per se, but is also seeking atonement for his own sins as he believes that he is ultimately the main person responsible for what has happened in his life. As we progress through the plot even more so it comes to fruition that upon the completion of this revenge plot, he plans to take his own life. It is never explicitly said, but it is clear through his actions and how we interact with the world that this is what he truly desires. Upon falling in love with jay, that begins to change. The end of this story is a call out to how Jay has become his reason to live. it also becomes known that the main character has always wanted to live, but kept looking for excuses to make it seem like he was forcing himself to be alive. He forced himself to pay off the debt. He forced himself to seek revenge. Obviously to a tone for his own sins and to seek vengeance in some semblance of the form, but also to give his life a purpose, as he was so desperately hoping to live even when he believed that he shouldn’t. he comes off as a very crabby and dry person, but it’s very clear through his actions that he is very considerate and caring of those around him. I was not anticipating enjoying this so much for the messages that were conveyed, but I think the author did a really good job of tying everything together along with allowing us to see how complex characters interact with the world around them. The main character is very well done and is written away that allows you to recognize that someone does not only have one version of reality that they’re living in, and that their version of reality is entirely reliant on their environment, surroundings, and ideals at the time. phenomenally done.
The Pawn's Revenge
chap 93 — CLOFFHANGERRRRR!! season 3 art is super pretty omg. plot is fantastic. their love? amazing! makes complete sense. super well done. amazing. loved this so freaking much. je-oh is peak. loveeeee!!!
Radio Storm
this was a phenomenal read. I loved every single second of this. The plot line is very well done. Both of the leads were very endearing. I really enjoyed that. We didn’t fully know what was truly going on because there was bias in the perspective that we were observing. I also really enjoyed the dynamic between the two main characters. I also am really satisfied that it was a happy ending because if it was a sad ending, I think I would not have enjoyed this read as much. I feel like this really had a way to entice me to keep reading. Every chapter had a purpose. It never felt like anything was dragging. Ultimately, this was phenomenally done and I have literally no complaints. I was worried going into this that I wouldn’t like the lack of color. But I think that when the color was important, it’s standing out, almost added emphasis to its importance. Ultimately, I just really enjoyed it.
A Trace of the Wonder
this is amazing. I didn’t think this was too special even halfway through reading. I think the concept is very well done and well executed. I think both characters are complex. I think the side characters are very lovable. And I thought the art was beautiful, even if it isn’t my immediate style. But what really made me surprisingly emotional was the main character and his struggle with suicidal ideation. That whole plot point just genuinely made me cry. And when his friends would pass away, told him what we as the readers all understood to be true (that he’s not to blame for their death and that they’re happy that he lived on) I could not stop crying. This was so much better than I thought it was going to be and truly an amazing read.
