Awesome story and pacing, great guilty pleasure angst too lol Could be less dramatic but i can let it slide under the guise of “ah he’s a young adult with lifetime trauma, makes sense” Poor Ian tho. His saviours and the only ppl who cared for him in this life only saw him as “Brian’s reincarnation”, not “Ian”. He was treated well purely cuz he was pseudo-Brian (by the Winkler siblings, and Archainia’s citizens). The ppl in his life who didn’t know he was Brian-incarnate treated him like absolute shit, and straight up wanted him dead. So…he probably internalized that the current life, Ian, was worthless at this point. Legit wouldn’t be surprised if he wanna suicide at this point, the only times he strived to live on despite arduous events were cuz he had faith in his caretakers loving him for himself (I.e. Sol). Knowing that even that was a lie, yeah…I’d kms too. Not sure if “give the boy some love” can save him at this point, it’ll probably take at least a decade’s time of genuine love. PTSD and cPTSD’s gonna take a while to resolve. If Ian was born on Archania’s land as an orphan, he probably had a better chance. Magic powers aren’t seen as “cursed” there so he could’ve found some good friends (until he Winkler siblings sniffed him out and whisked him away, but at least he wouldn’t have had the initial experience of extreme abuse.) Edit: ok so it seems author ditched Ian’s story in favour of a flashback Brian story spanning 30+ chapters LMAOOOO what a bore. I probably won’t pick this up again until Ian comes back and the author resumes telling his story as welll as they did initially. Worthless read I guess

Amazing. AMAZING! MC is so soft but confidently stern when she needs to be, she’s quite pragmatic but retains a lot of emotional intelligence. 4.5 Nice hurt/comfort in the first story, the second story is super wholesome

Vol 16 3.1 incomplete; word doc translations to the raw are our but I can’t find the rays the,selves lol (maybe here in the doc?) the pages themselves aren’t translated and posted in full. Also, this chapter before this one is missing (Ora Ritau no Baai 30), since this incomplete one is 31. The 32 is fully translated and posted tho. Art and plot got better over time! It’s getting surprisingly melancholic. Char development is getting better The vibes are great so it deserves 5*. Character development-wise it’s a little childish and archaic, and if I picked it up fresh today I’d be like “wtf”. Nevertheless, it was good for its time and remains a classic. Char development has some wonky bits by tpday’s standard, but the story building is still very good. At least 4* by tofay’s standards. All their families are fucking sad Jesus Christ

Sometimes the plot feels like a fever dream lol It’s super big-brained, unique, and complex. Massive applause to this author for combining drama with angst and murder mysteries lol How tf did the author make the seme so unassuming at first then make him into the coolest most badass character wtf I’m blushing when I see this man…he’s a modern day villain that turned to good deeds purely cuz of circumstances; if his drive was misplaced (e.g. dystopian setting or smth) he’d definitely become the scariest criminal LOL Uke is so cute aeyeyeye They’re both so considerate of each other they love each other so much ayaaaaaaa Also The smut is so fkn hot FUCK Ch 20: Fkn bittersweet wholesomeness facing uke’s father’s past. I cried, fuck.

Great plot and storytelling, it was very complicated tho so it needed to be binged in one sitting lmao The generation of romantic feelings between characters were occasionally superficial, but overall it worked out Storytelling was very clever given the complex storyline, but could’ve been a little more clear at times lmao. Did great tho. Preferably could’ve clarified when Lai recovered his recent memories after the drug-flower sniffing incident near the end of the story…I wasn’t sure how to interpret his perspective when I didn’t even know what memories he had on him at the time. (Answer was that he recovered all recent ones by the time they started searching for shit underground. He was only filling in his childhood memories at that point.) Near the end things got really cuddly and cute, but the tone shift was slightly too fast. It was 100% angst before that, so. It could’ve used a bit more time to shift colour palettes like that. Ending definitely needed one more chapter to wrap up some things and conclusively end the story. Hector’s mom should’ve had a cute reunion with her son, Ellen and Edwin deserved a little more cuddle and wholesome scenes after heir role in the story, and the dethroning of both fathers could’ve been more fleshed out. As it was, it was just briefly glossed over as “the court took care of them ok yep yep the end yep.” Some things that need clarity lol: Hector’s biological dad was the knight, right? That’s why Lai’s comment about Hector’s mom “not being alone” was significant, to show she had a partner? Unless it was a nice stepdad,by which more clues should’ve been dropped about that. As it is, the emperor probably didn’t reveal that he didn’t do incest and that Hector wasn’t his direct son, so he could slander Hector’s mom (“she’s an incestuous whore! I’m a man tho so I can fuck whoever. But she’s a slut!!!”) and jeopardize Hector’s position as the next in line to the throne.

4.5* Pretty good gang plot, it might’ve been a tad bit cliche? But idk if it had that effect purely cuz of the art style Yeah it was pretty good tho
