Hai Kaburi no Otoko
Wow, that was the twist I was hoping for, but I wasn't sure if I'd get it. I feel like the first shot of his face kind of makes you wonder, though, haha. Not sure if this is a oneshot or not, and it's screwed up either way, but it was a good read.
Ten Ten Shiro Shiro
I like the unsettling feeling throughout, knowing what kind of man this guy is. I wish there'd been more, though. It's just there and gone, though the implication is enough. Still, it felt like it stopped too abruptly. ETA: Oh, I see that it was incorrectly marked as completed. I hope the next chapter is translated soon! EDIT: What the flying fuck? I was excited to see that it was up to chapter three, but this is not at all what I thought was going to happen. That little kid is like a budding serial killer. This is like a really weird, creepy love triangle. Very disturbing and unsettling. I'm trying to figure out what the point is. The story seems all over the place, unlike her other work, and nothing really happens other than creepy interactions. I want him to just run away from that creepy house and live with his classmate. That kid is totally gonna kill that bird, ugh.

Haru ni Kaeru
I love Kunieda Saika so much. I wish all of her work were translated. It seems like she hasn't written anything new for a while, either. I hope I see more of her stuff soon. I'm obsessed. This was an interesting little collection. So far, two chapters haven't been translated yet, so we'll see if that ever happens. Fingers crossed. I liked the first one the most out of the ones that were here, I think. Kinda weird and sad, definitely sorta creepy ending. Like, creepy uncle literally, not creepy as in horror. Hope the other two are translated someday.
Kuruizaki No Hana
I seriously spent years agonizing over the fact that the publisher went under before releasing the final, translated volume. I thought I'd never read the ending. Then I discovered it had been scanlated about two years ago, and I was so freaking happy. It took them a while to get to it, so I'd lost hope. Thank you so much to the scanlation team! This manga is so sad and screwed up, typical of the mangaka, but at least the ending isn't as depressing as it is in some of her other stuff. Still sad, but it could be worse. I just saw that she wrote a follow up to the series in 2007, though, and I wonder if anyone will ever pick that up. It's been a long time, though, and it seems like her work is less popular in general, so I have no idea if it'll ever be translated. I miss how active scanlations used to be. EDIT: Damn it, I was deliriously tired when I saw the continuation thing, and it isn't for this at all. It's for the other one, The Demon Ororon. I should have read more carefully. But that one should be translated, because that story had such an abrupt ending.
A Meek Little Brother Like Me
Haha, this mangaka is a big fan of sociopathic, manipulative characters. I love the subtle build throughout, just little things that suggest something is off with the sister, and early on you start to wonder about that accident. Definitely another dark comedy here. I liked it the most out of what I've read by this author, though. Very twisted little snapshot about how the most dangerous, bloodthirsty people can wear a bland smile and sleep in the room right next to yours.
Heartless
This is rather similar to a story I wrote when I was seventeen, haha. I like how pretty the uke is, and I like that you can actually see his penis. That's so rare, I was kind of surprised when it wasn't a weird, glowing orb. I'm sad that my biggest kink (purely fictional) isn't explored more in BL. I hate it in het. You'd think there'd be more stories where the seme is forced to watch the uke be harmed in some way. But maybe other people aren't quite as deranged as myself, lol. EDIT: Holy crap, I thought this was a oneshot! It was marked as complete at the time that I read it, at least. This was amazing! You NEVER see yaoi like this. And yes, this artist is messed up and depressing much of the time, but this was a very interesting story. Man, I wish more yaoi had supernatural action and factions fighting one another and stuff. Mooooooore. I want to read more set in this universe, damn it. All of the creepy things in the storage room, man... There's a lot of material there. It's still marked as incomplete, so maybe we'll get some extras? I'm just bummed that we don't get more of this world. I liked this story SO MUCH MORE than her other full length, Feeding Lamb, which was just disturbing as fuck. I mean, well-written, but mostly just unpleasant given the nature of it. I much prefer her supernatural horror to her serial killer/gore horror.
Kimi no Naka Ni
Hm. Kind of abrupt, though I do like that the he was deeply in love with his wife. I hate how yaoi just tosses aside female characters like they're placeholders. I really hate "it's okay if it's you" type stuff with a straight character, so I'm kinda glad it... went the direction that it did. Sad, but it didn't make me cry, which is unusual for me with emotional stuff. I guess I just couldn't really connect with the characters. But it was unusual, so three stars.
Katamuku Karada
Creepy, but it seems to be aware of it? I dunno. Interesting, regardless. Too bad it was so short. I feel like that could have been explored more. Definitely got a Stockholm syndrome vibe.
