Redemption Camp
Why the fuck did I read this piece of shit? I mean, I hated it before I even started it, and yet I just. couldn't. stop. Dear lord, though, those gravity-defying breasts. Girl, you could have easily knocked all those dudes out with those things.
Nega
I wonder why the follow up with that sad love triangle isn't on here. It's translated. I haven't seen it on the site in general, which is weird. Anyway, read most of these separately, but a few were new to me. I fucking love Harada, ugh. Honestly, in the grand scheme of things, these weren't as bad as they could have been as far as soul crushing. Sad, still, especially the first one. No one wins, and it sucks. I wish she'd continue it beyond the second part. Why can't they share, damn it? More love triangles need to end like that.
Abarenbo honey
It's... interesting. I dunno, I feel like these stories could be so awesome, but they all end up being pretty rinse and repeat. I think the pacing kinda ruins this one. More development and a longer period of time leading up to the encounter between the main couple might have helped it a bit. I dunno, I'm still waiting to see what happens.
Melancholic Mellow Mellow
I don't know if I can read this whole thing. Gonna try, I guess, but the yaoi rape is so disgusting. It isn't like most of them where the guy puts up a fight for two seconds then gets into it, which I still hate but at least we can pretend it was secretly consensual all along. Rape is treated so casually here, and I don't know if that was what the author intended, but it's so gross and uncomfortable. How can you go on from that and act like it's some sort of cute love story? I don't want them to end up together. I want Madoka to get hit by a bus. So I'm not sure if I can go forward. But yeah... I'm gonna try. I don't like leaving manga unfinished. And the art is just so pretty, so I'm really bummed.
Yoru To Asa No Uta
While the way the seme treated the uke throughout the story was horrid, at least he didn't rape him, which is like 90% of the manga out there, so I can tolerate their unhealthy relationship a little more. And in the end, it really did seem like they were going to be kind to one another and treat each other well. So I really enjoyed it. Plus, I love Harada, so I'm naturally going to enjoy her work to some degree.
Yoro to Asa no Uta dj - Aru Otoko No Higeki
Graphic extension of the very brutal rape scene in the main story. Hard to look at. Even though that character is a giant asshole for most of the manga, it's still heartbreaking. Definitely not for the faint of heart.
Keloid
Typical rape to "love" sort of story, where the uke feels guilty somehow toward his rapist. Gross and unoriginal. Art was so-so, not great, but I've seen worse, so I'll leave it at 1.5 stars.
Escape (kyuugou)
Read this again to be sure of how it all went, but yeah, pretty much as I remembered. This is a sad one. At least it doesn't go on long enough for them to live happily ever after, which I hope is not the natural conclusion to such a violent rape. But we all know how yaoiland works. For what was here, though, it's a sad, interesting story about obsession, denial, and unrequited love.
Hogu Hagyeongsu
Kind of jumps around awkwardly, but the art is lovely, and I like it so far. Fingers crossed for it staying awesome. EDIT: After more chapters came out, it quickly became fantastic. I'm really excited to see where this goes. This has so many things that I love and rarely find in yaoi. EDIT AGAIN: So, here I thought this manwha was everything I wanted. We had the dark past with the screwed up, obsessed, gangster lover. We had the new love and the main character moving on. When things went south, I loved it, and I thought this would be a thriller involving them trying to escape and the main character and his sweet boyfriend eventually being together. But the moment it suddenly stopped being about him just trying to protect his current boyfriend, I realized this was just like all the rest. It's rape porn with no real growth on the part of any of the characters. The least it could do was give us the ending these characters deserved. Instead, the main character decides he has to stand by the fact that, after hurting a sweet person, he is never allowed to be happy again, nor is his ex. So, the only way to do that is to get back together? Whatever, they should both just get hit by a bus. I'm so over this crap. It was beautiful art, and it had SO much potential, so I'm endlessly bitter. Why do these things never go a better way?
