Emotional rollercoaster max. What. The. Hell. I originally started to read this because I saw a Tic Tok about it and how the dude had trauma with pets dying and wanted to check it out. Then I realized it was some love square/ romance and then read it because I thought they would be cute together but wanted to stop after a point cause it was gonna be like any other romance, guy likes girl who like the guys best friend- drama and so on, but boy was I wrong. The moment I released what it actually was about, I was like holy shit. That's a lot deeper than I thought. The story doesn't just get thrown into the "romance" or "slice of life" category, it's different in a way, it's complicated emotions, complex views on life, struggles with who you are or who you want to be, what's most important to you, what it really means to be happy, and so much more than just romance. I wanted to stop so many times, I hate love triangles and drama so it was a little hard to read, and i cried so much from all the emotions, but I did finish it and it was amazing.
