The Esteemed Lady of the Tea Garden
It’s a mess. The first chapters especially. The setting has modern countries yet is integrated with fantasy elements. That in itself is forgivable, but the pacing is just too fast. We’re not allowed to fully digest these characters with secret identities and why they place such importance on Camellia (the MC). The ML is clearly set up to have history with the MC, but it’s hard to like/empathize with him when we practically know nothing about him (though this may just be my personal opinion). So many male characters go gaga over her. I get that there’s an underlying story, but the execution is terrible. A majority subplots aren’t given sufficient explanation. Everything feels all over the place. I’m not even sure why I should care about the characters. No one is particularly likable, even the MC. She feels wishy-washy and unoriginal. The writing just isn’t good, but I do think this has potential. Not enjoyable to read. Like a potentially beautiful puzzle missing over half of its pieces.
Marronnier Farm Near by the Imperial Palace
I find this very wholesome! The MC touches people’s hearts through her cooking/farming. love the art. also love how the emperor got character development. all the characters of the main cast are generally likable. this is def a change of pace from all the politics and drama i usually see in this fantasy manhwa. gave me some good laughs. ^^
How to Hide the Emperor’s Child
this is actually really good? the plot is dramatic, but I was so INVESTED. the characters are so dynamic, and you really feel their development. the story has incredibly slow build up, but the pay off is extremely satisfying! second time read though i get frustrated with the drawn out misunderstanding… and like the romance isnt quite there. I wouldn’t read this for a love story but more of a drama with nobility and politics? certain moments did make this worth reading like the reveal that theore is the emperor’s son… not a bad read, but perhaps it’s better you read this only once. the art is beautiful, despite the story being a little weak. 28 35 63 92
This Cheapskate Knight Wants to Make Me Cry
16 eh the plot is kinda frustrating. very cliché
Fakes Don’t Want To Be Real
44 Same old recyled plot, but what can I say I can’t help reading stories like this. Nothing about this is particularly good, but the ML is respectable. The FL is cool, and i like her powers
How to Protect My Male Lead
dude this is too good. i love the art and the way it pictures the setting. usually things seem very extravagant but i think this takes a semi more realistic approach. it’s very beautiful. i love them sm like POWER COUPLE. and the mc is so capable and intelligent. the plot is rly interesting im in love
Please Marry Me Again, Husband!
so good! i love this sm mainly bc of how the romance is handled. it’s very healthy, and they communicate well. they’re such a power couple *sobs* They warm my heart so… Anyway, besides the romance, I also love the story and the dynamic characters. The lengths the leads are willing to go for the other— just so romantic. They’re possessive of each other yet also considerate. Together, they help each other and others around them. The character development is very apparent when comparing the FL now to her previous life and even her relationships with Kardi and her older brother Jernen (who can totally step on me). the plot (i.e. the politics and drama) doesn’t lack much. the art style did kinda downgrade in that it’s very basic now but it’s not that noticeable i think
Kotaete My Drifter
Such a poignant read. Realistic for the time this was set in. The roaring ‘20s.. The Great Depression… The story just evokes so many emotions with the diverse character backgrounds and the atmospheric art. Extremely romantic like Lin Che kept saving Eliot over and over. AND THE LETTER– It’s tragic, but they’re happy at the end at least.
How to Diet as a Lady
It was all going so well. The pacing was rly good, but then all of a sudden, the story gets cut off. Very rushed ending, although the couple was sweet. Lots of plot holes. Like a decent story that the author just decided they wanted to end halfway. Even without the terrible ending, however, this was honestly pretty mediocre. A nice time waster perhaps.
