Top Star’s Talent Library

Ongoing | kang seoul,seong hyang | 2019 released

I find the message of this story interesting, the idea that "hard work and effort doesn't betray oneself." It's contradictory in itself as the MC needed those talent books to even debut. He relies on the talent books in order to excel at whatever he does. Reminds me of Deku from MHA where he couldn’t become a hero no matter how he tried as he was quirkless. Nice to think about. Anyway, this comic is pretty good. You have your healthy dose of idol drama, slice of life, teamwork, etc. Idols doing things idols do. The art isn't fantastic, but it's enough for the story. Hope there isn't any romance or anything, but I'm getting serious FL vibes from Arin. *cough* I've read better manhwa about idols. I feel that the talent library idea has a lot of potential, though.

The Old Man Reincarnated as a Villainess

Ongoing | Ueyama michirou | 2019 released

Gosh, this is hilarious! I like how even after “fusing” with the original Grace, the MC didn’t lose his identity. He influences the characters in a different way. Like you’d think, this is a really funny manga and I love the possibility of him returning back to his old world and to his wife and daughter! And the fact that he’s in a game is so hilarious. 9/10 just bc of how much i enjoyed this.

Every Villain Is Lemons

Ongoing | Jangryang | 2019 released

interesting…. i wonder how the author’ll handle the ML who displays “psychopathic” behavior. update: so this is overly dramatic and cliché. misunderstandings galore, yada, yada. just wanna know how it will be resolved

Off the Plate

Ongoing | Jai | 2000 released

I really like this manhwa because it feels so real… Like the characters. I was at first drawn to this because it was about a food show obviously, but I really like how the author portrays the leads’ relationship with one another. And I love the food as well. It almost feels like you could walk past one of the leads on the street and never even notice. It’s extremely well written and an enjoyable, immersive read.

A Thousand Cranes

Complete | Jung Seokchan | 2000 released

Surprisingly, this is not a story about a murderer and the pitiful witness to his crime, but rather a story about healing from your past trauma. The premise is definitely an interesting one, but what makes this story so special is the composition and the god tier writing, holy… It just makes so much sense despite the outlandish setting. The ML is really just some dude who fell victim to his father’s wrongdoings and teachings while the MC is also a poor guy with a sorry excuse of a father who left him with debt. They find solace and light in each other and promise themselves that they will make that light last forever. Pretty great message if you ask me. The author really outdid themself with this story. 10/10

69 Mid. it’s been a while since I read something so… sigh. How do I put it? It may be because of the god awful pacing, but I didn’t feel attached to the leads at all? And the ML’s whole crime past thing doesn’t ever get resolved or cleared up… Doha’s friend never gets closure about his father. It’s like the MC is such a passive character and things just HAPPEN to him. It doesn’t feel like he ever acts on his own? This manhwa tries to make for a deep, riveting story, but it falls short with plot points dropped that are never explored. How am I supposed to care about the story, when I don’t care about the characters? Their dynamic gets a little dull… I read up to the end, but I can’t say I ever liked the story.

Don't Mix Business with Pleasure!

Ongoing | Hodot | 2022 released

I’m just a vain person bc I like the MC’s other hairstyle more LMAO. Anyway, why are they so cute?? i love their dynamic, and i also love when the ml falls first. he’s so whipped for the mc, and the mc is slowly (?) also reciprocating his feelings. the art is *chef’s kiss*, and this is just really funny. the mc is relatable. im a fan of these tropes where the “line between artist and muse gey blurred.” quite the enjoyable, smile-filled read w/ risqué elements.
