Drug-Eating Genius Mage

Ongoing | | 2022 released

The world is actually very interesting (to me at least). You have cyberpunk combined with magic combined with supernatural powers. It’s all very layered. The protagonist is a funny one to call a “mage.” He obviously he is, but he also won’t hesitate to pull out a glock to take care of his opponents. The plot so far is a little miscellaneous; the MC takes care of jobs, earning some money here and there. The ultimate goal is likely for him to stop relying on such drug, and it’s quite entertaining to read the steps the MC takes in order to achieve that. The action’s pretty good, albeit predictable. Art’s fantastic. The side characters aren’t the developed of the developed, but their goals too intersect with the MC. I’m not the biggest fan of harem, but here, it’s tolerable. Good stuff.

The Dark Mage’s Return to Enlistment

Ongoing | | 2022 released

Really funny. Magic (?) skills combined with a militaristic setting. Reminds me of "Perfect Hybrid," otherwise known as "Genius of the Unique Lineage." Title sums it up perfectly actually. I like how the MC doesn't really feel a need to hide his powers. He's not all that calculating and just does his own thing. The reason behind his actions? His favorite girl from a video game he loves lmao. A somewhat unique twist on a popular concept.

Leveling Up With Skills

Ongoing | | 2022 released

I wasn't very moved by the first chapter, but as I kept reading, I found that the story wasn't half bad. The story had a different approach compared to others of the same genre. I liked how it was so different to the typical toss-all-the-world-building-into-the-first-chapter kind of business. We actually got to see a glimpse of the characters' motives before the MC regressed into the past. There exists an intriguing sense of mystery and thrill as of course this is mainly about survival. The female lead feels like an actual person, and I personally like how the MC isn't just your "cold and indifferent" protag. He takes the initiative to help others. Liking the action and the story so far.

Saikyou no Kanteishi tte Dare no koto? ~Manpuku gohan de Isekai Seikatsu~

Ongoing | Minatose tsukasa,Fujiwara rika | 2019 released

The translation gradually gets better. For the first portion, you can just turn your brain off and get through it relatively easily. It’s enough to somewhat understand. Anyway, I thought that this was pretty good. It’s a nice slice of life manga where you get to see a lot of deliciously drawn food! I wouldn’t take this too seriously. The MC just accepts how he’s in another world without rhyme or reason and starts bringing ideas over from Japan. He’s OP ofc, but he uses his abilities for other things. I like that he’s a guy who’s into traditionally feminine things. Makes his character likable, and I also enjoyed the theme where you shouldn’t force your beliefs on others. I very much agree with that sentiment. The art and setting’s good, characters are funny and likable, and this is just an enjoyable, light read.

The Old Man Reincarnated as a Villainess

Ongoing | Ueyama michirou | 2019 released

Gosh, this is hilarious! I like how even after “fusing” with the original Grace, the MC didn’t lose his identity. He influences the characters in a different way. Like you’d think, this is a really funny manga and I love the possibility of him returning back to his old world and to his wife and daughter! And the fact that he’s in a game is so hilarious. 9/10 just bc of how much i enjoyed this.

Golden Mage

Ongoing | | 2022 released

20 ATS Interesting. I’ve never seen a reincarnated MC where, in his past life, he was a pro gamer lmao. The romance is somewhat tolerable. It’s there even though you don’t want it to be, but it doesn’t interfere with the other parts of the story it seems. Can’t say it isn’t annoying to me, though. It’s a bit odd to me how his mother doesn’t even feel like his mother, but maybe that’s because he’s a reincarnated individual? Meaning that he doesn’t have to rely on his mom as much like kids his age. Anyway, the pacing is kinda wack. 20 chaps, and I don’t believe we really got to see the MC as a child enough. It’s all a bit sudden and smushed together. Art’s okay, but I’ve seen better. The MC takes steps towards his goals while trying to protect his family in the process. Also unique in that he has a golden golem?! Okay read, but if I had the choice, I’d go back to the past and not waste my time on this.

Disastrous Necromancer

Ongoing | | 2022 released

7 ATS Some parts are pretty interesting…. but the MC still is way too overpowered lol. He has such a cheat. I want problems! Difficulties! And last of all. no harem please.

My Death Flags Show No Sign of Ending

Ongoing | Izumi,Achiki | 2019 released

Really good. Sure, it has romance, but I don’t think it’s detrimental to the story? It adds it. So far, I’m loving the MC’s character. I’ve always been a fan of the MC who has contradictory qualities as he is forced to abide by the original storyline. It’ll be fun to see him grow stronger is what I think. Plus, the action is great! The side characters on the other hand…. Anyway, I’m not saying this is incredibly well written or perfect, but I do like this.

Isekai Craft Gurashi Jiyu Kimamana Seisan Shoku No Honobono Slow Life

Ongoing | aroe,tateyama rin | 2019 released

This is so entertaining. I like how it’s just about the MC doing architecture/crafting the things he wants to in another world. The characters are likable, and it’s funny at the right moments. Sure, the MC’s abilities are a bit outlandish, but he’s not ridiculously OP.

Dragon-Devouring Mage

Ongoing | | 2022 released

Better than a few of the stuff I’ve read. I’m enjoying how the story displays the MC fighting his inner demons/resentment. The story decided to take the traditional route of having the MC go back in time. Questionable decision on their part, but it does influence the characters. The action is pretty good, and tbh the MC reminds me of Hinata Shoyo in a weird way. Anyway, I'm liking the character development and the MC's growth in power. The dream arc left me reeling, but it was all just a step for him to gain more power. The romance aspect is kind of questionable.
