I Returned as an FFF-Class Witch Doctor
Better than I thought it would be. I like that he's an actual "witch doctor," meaning we get to see him do voodoo stuff. His appearance fits the bill, too. He just doesn't give a flying rock about anything. He bulldozes through fights and stuff with his powers. He does have a few cheats, but that's how protags always are. I like that he's not purely revenge driven, too. The game provides action and a smidge of mystery regarding the reason behind his regression and all that. Plus, it's funny and has great (meme-worthy) art. Streamer MC is okay.
The Voice Next Door
I mean, it's alright…. I was expecting more voicing acting bits, but this was more so a story about miscommunication and accepting yourself? This would've been better had they expanded on the latter detail, but this was on the shorter side after all. One good thing we got was role playing? Jokes aside, pretty okay read. It's rare that you see an innocent top. The side characters felt a little redundant as if the author was trying their damn hardest to shove their ship down my throat, though.
Drug-Eating Genius Mage
The world is actually very interesting (to me at least). You have cyberpunk combined with magic combined with supernatural powers. It’s all very layered. The protagonist is a funny one to call a “mage.” He obviously he is, but he also won’t hesitate to pull out a glock to take care of his opponents. The plot so far is a little miscellaneous; the MC takes care of jobs, earning some money here and there. The ultimate goal is likely for him to stop relying on such drug, and it’s quite entertaining to read the steps the MC takes in order to achieve that. The action’s pretty good, albeit predictable. Art’s fantastic. The side characters aren’t the developed of the developed, but their goals too intersect with the MC. I’m not the biggest fan of harem, but here, it’s tolerable. Good stuff.
The Dark Mage’s Return to Enlistment
Really funny. Magic (?) skills combined with a militaristic setting. Reminds me of "Perfect Hybrid," otherwise known as "Genius of the Unique Lineage." Title sums it up perfectly actually. I like how the MC doesn't really feel a need to hide his powers. He's not all that calculating and just does his own thing. The reason behind his actions? His favorite girl from a video game he loves lmao. A somewhat unique twist on a popular concept.
Don't Pick Up the Soap
Honestly, I really enjoyed reading this. It was so funny with the (English) names and everything. It was also smutty, so that was an infinite plus. It was very comical, and who doesn't love reading about beefy dudes? It's not anything super substantial that'll stick with you for a while, but it's a entertaining experience.
Bittersweet Sweet Darling
Misunderstood, broke MC who’s a bad actor with a lot of black history x backer/president ML. Somewhat interesting but the MC is a pushover. Update: So this is more cute than I thought! They become a rly healthy, and I appreciate how the ML communicates his feelings with the MC and helps him get over his fear of being abandoned and stuff. The acting elements were light, and I would've liked to see more of it. All loose ends get tied together with a bow on top. Decent read.
Silky Secrets
Just hear me out… I quite like this manhwa, and I do have to agree that if you were to have a ratio of the ******* moments to plot elements, the former would greatly outnumber the latter. But! The plot elements that ARE present are very imaginative. It could just be that the translation isn’t shitty, but certain parts really moved me (e.g. the ML/uke’s backstory). It’s become more than just your typical “oh my boss has a dirty secret and wears lingerie” kind of story but one that also covers toxic masculinity and embracing yourself. I mean, c’mon, we’re talking about Korea here. Their couple dynamic is actually so, so sweet (and healthy), and the art is so, so good. I’m personally a big fan of puppy dog tops, so that was a plus… *cough* But that’s besides the point. Of course, the story isn’t perfect. Like wdym there’s some annoying guy who has blackmail material on the ML and is a huge jerk?? A few plot points are a bit cliché (misunderstandings, etc.) , but I don’t think it’s too much of a downside. Good read.
Hands Up Me!
The confession was pretty sweet even though they were dense idiots. Buff dude x Buff dude. I liked the premise , and it was executed relatively decently.
The Deputy Wants To Do It
It’d be really hard to not like this comic because it’s just so funny! Almost every chapter had me dying of laughter. I’m telling you, it’s hilarious. I am an avid enjoyer of office romance, and this checks everything on my list. This is not without its flaws of course (e.g. could’ve down without the attempted rape scene and their first time doing… that). But it still makes for a good read in my opinion. The art is excellent. That being said, I do have to admit that it played a significant part in the enjoyment factor, but maybe that’s just me. Aside from that, there’s nothing too special about this story. The side characters are there. The plot’s decent. So far, it’s just been the ML’s cold self warming up to the MC. They have their cute moments.
