The Esteemed Lady of the Tea Garden

Ongoing | Malkkot | 2022 released

It’s a mess. The first chapters especially. The setting has modern countries yet is integrated with fantasy elements. That in itself is forgivable, but the pacing is just too fast. We’re not allowed to fully digest these characters with secret identities and why they place such importance on Camellia (the MC). The ML is clearly set up to have history with the MC, but it’s hard to like/empathize with him when we practically know nothing about him (though this may just be my personal opinion). So many male characters go gaga over her. I get that there’s an underlying story, but the execution is terrible. A majority subplots aren’t given sufficient explanation. Everything feels all over the place. I’m not even sure why I should care about the characters. No one is particularly likable, even the MC. She feels wishy-washy and unoriginal. The writing just isn’t good, but I do think this has potential. Not enjoyable to read. Like a potentially beautiful puzzle missing over half of its pieces.

The Savior's Book Café in Another World

Ongoing | Izumi kyouka (和泉杏花),Oumiya (近江谷),Sakurada reiko | 2019 released

Very cute manga with fluffy romance! My only qualm is the racism… It’s very clear that the antagonists are middle eastern caricatures even though we don’t see them that often. i liked how they’re about the same age! and a more mature and understanding couple. you don’t see that too much in the manga, but the extra chapters conveyed that. they were cute (and a little spicy) as well. Mostly heartwarming read. Youta wasn’t too bad of a character imo.

Okuremashite Seishun

Ongoing | Kira hanamaru | 2022 released

14 They’re so freaking adorableee. I adore that they’re the same age and they like each other just as much as the other! They’re so awkward, and this manga perfectly encapsulates first love imo. This is the kind of manga you can’t help kicking your feet in the air too… Ughh i just love them sm

Don’T Pick Up What You’Ve Thrown Away

Ongoing | A Hungry Night,Tiva,Vertex | 2021 released

96 I really like the story, but it’s so slow! As is the romance. The slow burn is worth it, though. I like the leads’ dynamic. The villains feel so petty, and they’re really frustrating to read about.
