What Happens When the Second Male Lead Goes on Strike
Surprise, surprise! I've actually read a bit of the novel before reading this comic. The story is quite interesting. The protagonist being male is like a breath of fresh air. Fairly distinguishing how the plot isn't very romance driven. And the MC is a priest!
Stuck in My Sister's Dating Sim
46 chapters in and I’m already rooting for the black haired guy. That is, if this isn’t harem…. Anyway, interesting plot. An actual gay isekai where the story starts to go haywire. Update: Fairly predictable plot. The ML is kinda…. He’s okay ig?
I am possessed by the Sword God
Heavy bromance. Refreshing take on the Murim setting. Usually see girl obsessed MCs, but here the MC genuinely wants to grow stronger. Character growth. Both physically and mentally. Dynamic characters. Friendship. Good action. Not bad. Better than I expected, and I look forward to when the MC starts developing an ego.
Martial Arts Alone
Decent. Art's okay. Seems like there's an FL? The MC's just kind of basic and so is the story. Action is satisfactory, though. If you're going to read this, read it for the fight scenes.
The Lazy Swordmaster
It's not bad. Of course, the MC and his side character buddies have to fight against this evil organization. At first, it was just face slapping but then it took an intriguing turn. One thing particularly interesting about this comic is the depth of the trauma the MC has regarding heroics. It literally haunts him, so much so that I can see that the author is showcasing the MC having a mental disorder. Mental health isn't really talked about in these manhwas, so that was a welcome aspect. I like that there's a healing theme (e.g. the MC's mom and the other characters supporting the MC, albeit from the sidelines). The art is a bit sorry to look at, but otherwise, it has a rounded story. Evident character development. The action's just slice and death so not that engaging. If you're going to read this, read this for the characters and the story, not so much the action. The (prospective) FL annoys me, but that's my personal gripe. Also, a lot of the plot is simply the MC getting dragged into things he doesn't want to do, which is what you expect for the first few chapters, but it gradually becomes a drag.
The Extra is Too Strong
The art's semi-decent. I like that pretty much everyone is buff. MC practically transmigrated with a golden finger, but he has drive. Ambition. The action is engaging. I'm don't have much hopes for the underlying story, though. We know the MC has those characteristics, but why? He's a bit weak as a character when he's supposed to be the MC.
Drug-Eating Genius Mage
The world is actually very interesting (to me at least). You have cyberpunk combined with magic combined with supernatural powers. It’s all very layered. The protagonist is a funny one to call a “mage.” He obviously he is, but he also won’t hesitate to pull out a glock to take care of his opponents. The plot so far is a little miscellaneous; the MC takes care of jobs, earning some money here and there. The ultimate goal is likely for him to stop relying on such drug, and it’s quite entertaining to read the steps the MC takes in order to achieve that. The action’s pretty good, albeit predictable. Art’s fantastic. The side characters aren’t the developed of the developed, but their goals too intersect with the MC. I’m not the biggest fan of harem, but here, it’s tolerable. Good stuff.
Baby Tyrant
24 This is available on Webtoon now… Also an adaptation of a novel…. Anywho, this is pretty decent?? Art is about what you would expect. I get where the title comes from now. The MC had a pitiful past. She is reborn w/ divine power (?) and is crowned emperor at the ripe of age of one. Awesome. She’s doted upon and stuff, but it’s really too early to tell what the story will be like from the available chapters out now alone.
