Release Your Persona
the artstyle was super delicious ughhh- I looooovee consensual sex so much!! the scene in chapter 2 was one of the hottest sex scenes I've seen- so smiley and hungry and needy ughhh I love them. they're good characters and I liked how quickly they solved their shit but-!! this would've been even better is the therapist wasn't an obsessive fan. sure, he wasn't a stalker and it was by pure accident, but I would have liked it way more if the author didn't go this route- either way, I'm happy they got their happy ending lmao
Hollow Lovers
heavy homophobia, loved feng and wish we got to see more of him. hope he's happy and thriving now 'this whole story is beautiful, its so realistic, i keep coming back. the ending line is just something that resonates with me and i yearn for love like this. i love both the seme and uke, their personalities are completely fleshed out. ziming learns to love someone other than himself and chu lin learns to love and accept himself.' this was someone else's comment because I don't know how I feel about this. on one hand, I liked so well portrait this was but mann, some thing were just off. the story felt short and I would've enjoyed it more if June didn't fall miserably. I think this would've been just as good without the sacrifice of ziming's career. Still, they're both soo pretty omg but idk. something put me off.
Who Can Define Popularity?
oh wow. I really, genuinely didn't exactly this to be so good. except for that one asshole I really liked everyone- even yujin was likable by the end. the characters felt realistic and complex, each showed a different side and different relationships - good communication and surprisingly no meaningless drama. all of the drama was used to develop characters and it was suchhhh a good fucking read. hoon is so dear to me, he's so lovable and loyal and ughh no wonder bowoo or.. wtv.. couldn't help but give him a chance lmao. the relationships fell good, too. it's nice how we could get to know the characters individually, focus on them as individuals and then see them in relationships- also liked how everything wasn't RULED by those relationships like other romance bls are!! ALSO LESBIANSSSSSSSSS!!!! RAHHH GOD YESS I really liked alessio. and I liked seeing kiwonji?'s backstory and shit- this was the best read I've had in a whileee
Sayonara Okaeri Itoshisa ni -Koi ni Tsuite, Oshietekurenai ka-
Holy wholesome peak!!!! I looove the mc so so much like idk why. he's giving that pathetic slaryman look (tm) and I'm WEAKKK. ALSO SEKE!!! I love switches! but this was very light despite tsukasa being a little bitch for a (very) short while!! I would've loved some extras but the story did end well so! all well that ends well!! I can't help but root for them and hope they stay together until old and grey lmao- I also loved their dynamics- this was just all around good!
Anti-Romance
that was so so beautiful I'm actually tearing up. this take on love and romance felt so fresh and different. I liked how each queer character was portrayed and it didn't end at just the fact that they're gay or queer. ugh. I'm so happy for them. so so happy. I want to see them as old men in their 50's and they really do love each other so much, they just needed time to realise it wahhh I'm such a hopless romantic man- the pacing was hella good and also SEKE!!
Gozou Roppu no Koi
this was veryyy adorable!! there was some actual plot, the characters were done well and nothing felt rushed at all, surprisingly. Seiichiro is a fucking sweetheart mannn I love him- and ichiro, too like damn.. he's so fucking hot but then cute too.. and I need him pregnant ngl. but! I really liked this being shounen ai!! and it was a genuine nice read all around!!
Senshun Kansoku
idk if I even have the room for this but TOP TEN TOP FIVE MAYBE this was so emotional and well done!! its genuinely one of the best reads of my fucking life and I'm all emotional now. the characters were sooo welll written, from haruka to shuu (obvi) to iga, their siblings and the little appearances everyone else had. everything felt intentional, it was really like watching a movie and actually feeling like I watched both of them grow. the last couple of chapters hit sooo well and I don't think they would've unless he knew the characters so well.. ughhh it was so fucking good!! I'm all snotty and shit. their love is so pure and I would definitely read 4 more volumes at least— no drama, no conflicts or useless miscommunication!! just two teens learning about themselves, love and each other and it was soo so fucking good!!! they're my babies!! it reminds me a bit of 'here, and there, and us'(and after) and oko-sama star (with with less drama) mann kairi was such a sweetie and so realistic but supportive- i realllyyy loved banri(?) (shuu's twin that maybe kinda lowk had a crush on haruka lmao) he was so lowk but supportive and LMAOO aka-nii clocking haruka's shit the first time they met was SOOO funny BITCH I WAS RIGHT ABOUT BANRI LMAOOO HE GOT A SPIN-OFF AND HE *IS* CRUSHING ON HARUKA—NAHHHHH I CLOCKED HIS SHIT SO FAST
Nidome ha Shoujiki
second read, the first didn't have a rating at all lmao.. wtf. what can I even say? yamato was cute some times but mann idfk how to feel about the top. so pushy and barely under the line of consent. I think characters like these just aren't my cup of tea? you can't even say its a brat and tamer— it's just an overly whiny, annoying guy and an overly pushy, annoying guy.. guess they deserve each other? there was some bickering.. little love, barely any chemistry and ughhh every character here is such a cliché.. atp I think I'm more into nuanced stories maybe? but ugh something put me off here also gap moe, kind of.. ppl are talking about their dynamic being fun and how cutely they fight in bed and shit and idk.. AM I THE PROBLEM? cause I ain't see none of that
Far from Romance
this is a reread for a proper review I will say, the way their first time went was a tiny bit off putting but in the end it worked out..? arata was more than into it and thankfully nothing tore. the pacing was really good, the story was sweet and the characters were well done imo. we don't see everything, like relationships outside of work (besides arata's dad for like, one convo lmao) but I can sort of understand why. I feel like a second volume with potential miscommunication would just ruin this so I'm happy with this ending here. the afterwords are super nice tho, and I'd loveeee to see more. super glad this got a new update otherwise I wouldn't have thought to read it again.. AND OH, MAN. the best part has got to be the art! soo gorgeous, the panels are so well done. the expressions, every move, every tiny detail in the back... GORGEOUS. the scene were arata went after luis and it was snowing got to be one of the PRETTIEST panels I've EVER seen, god damn.
