Sayonara Okaeri Itoshisa ni -Koi ni Tsuite, Oshietekurenai ka-
Holy wholesome peak!!!! I looove the mc so so much like idk why. he's giving that pathetic slaryman look (tm) and I'm WEAKKK. ALSO SEKE!!! I love switches! but this was very light despite tsukasa being a little bitch for a (very) short while!! I would've loved some extras but the story did end well so! all well that ends well!! I can't help but root for them and hope they stay together until old and grey lmao- I also loved their dynamics- this was just all around good!
Anti-Romance
that was so so beautiful I'm actually tearing up. this take on love and romance felt so fresh and different. I liked how each queer character was portrayed and it didn't end at just the fact that they're gay or queer. ugh. I'm so happy for them. so so happy. I want to see them as old men in their 50's and they really do love each other so much, they just needed time to realise it wahhh I'm such a hopless romantic man- the pacing was hella good and also SEKE!!
Papa to Boku to Kazoku ni Natte yo
girl this was pretty ass lmaooo- kinda but not really? I'm very conflicted. the happy times were less than the bad times, the first three chapters were hard to get through because besides ka-whatever, sore and his dad were pretty unlikeable. even if I can understand why nonomura acted the way he did it still pissed me off (maybe I'm projecting) but it just felt idk- yk that fuckass tiger that makes everything about him? the last two chapters felt like that with nonomura
Yoru wa Tomodachi
I felt like we didn't get to know the actual characters at all. We know the bottom is a masochist, And we know, guessing, that he had pretty past relationship. But that's about how much we actually know.. his past bf was in love with him but we didn't dwel on that at all? which was a bit weird but I ca understand the mangaka and story focusing only on the present and on the main couple... that being said, I find it odd that we didn't see much of their actual relationship besides the top's (a bit twisted) way of thinking. I will say, though, the last chapter's confession was emotional and done decently well.. but! it felt forced and rushed since we didn't see much of Tabito's(?) concerns or feelings.. idk. it was a nice read, the bdsm was consensual and the aftercare being portrait WAS nice.. but I think I went into this expect something else (or something more) and it came out feeling a little disappointed somehow.. I think that's on me, though. I expected a healthy portrait of comunication, of bonds extending beyond the bdsm part and good, proper aftercare.. I got SOME of that, but maybe it just wasn't enough to meet my own set expectations..? so that's on me lol that being said, this old (2016, relased in 2012 maybe) so the concepts are a little outdated?(??) idk if that's what's happening but oh, well, they were cute and the artsyle was weirdly enticing so.. all the best to them, maybe if I give this another read, my thoughts will be better structured
A Room Without Window
goddamn? Holy fucking hell, was this good. The characterization was amazing, gitae was incredibly likable even with his 'cliché angry' personality because he wasn't JUST that. And though I didn't cry, I felt so incredibly bad about jihoon like :(( my sweet baby would've been doomed from the beginning no matter what.. but it's okay! now he has a great husband who loves him deeply!! I liked how the story was done, how the heavy subjects were treated right, (jihoon crying after finding out gitae used to be gangraped was such a good, realistic reaction, so was gitae's reaction to jihoon's childhood and his resentmentfor his parents) and while they weren't brushed over annoyingly fast, we still see the characters naturally, slowly get over everything with mutual support.. not to mention, the world setting really made it feel like it's burning and apocalyptic so!! kudos to author-nim!! SO beautiful!!! I'm so so glad I decided to give this a shot! it's definitely one of my best reads in a while, even if I mostly predicted the plot in chapter one.. (I was right about 45%)
