Honestly, I see this as nothing more than censorship, I just like stories plain and simple.So, Some of these stories have gay characters but not all stories are about lesbian or gay love. I am straight and I do read yaoi. I don’t find it odd. In the beginning, weren’t the target readers of yaoi straight females? I could be mistaken but that’s what I’ve heard. Also as long as you don’t think that real life works exactly the same way yaoi does and as long as you don’t fetishize gay couples I don’t think it’s bad.   2 reply

As a gay guy, I don't really care if straight people do or don't read yaoi, bara, etc Yes these stories can have certain problematic elements such as romanticising rape, but as long as you have enough sense to differ fiction from reality just go for it   3 reply

tell them to mind their own business. Yaoi isn't problematic, it's the fans that make it problematic. Yaoi does encourage people to fetishize gay people, but people need to realize that gay couples aren't goddamn objects. If you stay in your lane, you'll be good.
