i think we just have to focus that for humanity as a whole, there will always be unrealistic beauty standards that we feel like we have to follow to be accepted by our peers. it doesn’t matter how far we advance as a society, people will always wish they could meet present aesthetics. i think we just have to personally take it on ourselves to r......   reply

I because of trauma breathe and chew very quietly and slowly when I’m nervous because my mother used to scream at or hit me if she could hear me breathing or chewing. I tap my foot a lot, cover my mouth with my hand, and I stutter when I’m anxious. I also get so socially anxious that I mix up my words sometimes and that’s incredibly embarr......   2 reply

Women are compared to actresses, porn stars, and insta models, all of which have an entire makeup team and photoshop to back them up. They know their angles, they were quite literally trained to look pleasing to the eye. Your average woman doesn't have that. We have to be naturally pretty, cause who wants a woman with too much makeup, right? We have to be thick, while simultaneously having a flat stomach, big tits, and a big ass.

Women have to have picture perfect hair at all times, no acne, no cellulite, no tummy fat, perfectly clear skin, can't be too tall, can't be too short, can't be too skinny, but you can't be too fat either.

And this isn't even considering the racial component. The world is held to eurocentric beauty standards. Which means if you don't have white skin and a narrow nose you're much more likely to be considered unattractive.

And istg if any of y'all are in the replies like "wHaT aBoUt Men!!11" then make your own damn post, we're talking about women.

First, I agree! Second, I'm mostly shocked that some ppl here seem not to understand the point you're trying to make. To me, it's been obvious. Let's give those ppl the benefit of the doubt and pretend they're 9 years old (If you're 9 and you understand, I didn't mean to offend you, you're smart for your age).   reply

I have habits that I do when I’m nervous, which is all the time.

Do yall have any nervous habits?

In pre-K, I chewed on the insides of my cheeks. In first grade, I bit my arms and hands. Things like that.

My favourite one was when I would dig my fingernails into my arms to I could make smiley faces.

Now I have three habits. Ripping the skin of my right thumb’s cuticle, cracking my bones, and pushing my fingers against my lips and then biting my lips.

Now I’ve got another question, is it normal for my bones to crack this much?

I mean, I know I crack my bones a lot, but I got a bit concerned when I breathed in and my back cracked. I crack my bones around three times a day, I think, but maybe a few more times for my knuckles and a bit less for things like my shoulders and knees.
