My first anime was Clannad, which I watched like 2 years before I actually got into anime for real. I found it because my friend showed me the song "Dango" and I liked it, so I was curious where it was from. I cried a lot watching it.
(I'll just exclude Pokemon since it's just a part of my childhood and I never thought of it as anime then.)
