I was in grade 9 when my friend brought her laptop to school and we watched an episode of bleach. I was sooo confused, even more so when she tried to explain the plot to me and I ended up just googling it. Then I had to work out the difference between 'anime' and 'manga' and all these weird new genres like 'shoujo' and 'shounen' and 'slice of life'......
