When did you meet your Otaku friends or how did your friendship start?
Well ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ i'm a closet otaku (and fujoshi) but last last year when i entered college, i have this one weird class (whole class) ( ̄∇ ̄") where they argue who is a better ship in a random anime, since i know what they're talking about i just listened silently, then half of the class suddenly got divided to two The YURI(boys) and The YAOI(girls). then they got into a debate then someone not from both group (the neutral) said that shoujo is better and another part of the neutral shouted shonen. then everyone got into an argument we got thrown out of the school building i was so shocked since i never really met another people who loves anime/manga that much. then everyone ate lunch together and become good friends.
today the girls used the boys as materials for a yaoi story then the boys used the girls as materials for a yuri story. but i'm telling you Ship War in our class is really a war (we gotten thrown out the building five times).ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
I converted my friend myself. She used to be a normal outernet type friend, and we have known eachother for a long time. This other friend i have forced me to watch anime, and i became into it. Then i made my friend watch it too, and we became otaku together. Now we are both hardcore internet fangirls, and i like that our level of otaku-ness rose s...... reply
I met them via a friend when we were over at their house. We were watching Free! and we hit it off because of our bond over half naked men's body. Great times. 1 reply

Unfortunately I do not have a true otaku friend. Most of my friends are into kDrama and Kpop (as I am too) but we don't have the same interest in anime or manga. As yaoi in general, I have one. He's a fudanshi. We send each other hot yaoi pictures once in a while. reply
I met them via school or work. It's hard to find people who like the anime/manga and such.
When we were in school, our ship wars never got us thrown out the building, but we were warned to cool it down.
My coworkers and I just tease each other with ships the other doesn't like. It's fun. (▰˘◡˘▰) 2 reply
