Your take on the fujoshi/ mlm fetishization discourse

If you are a fujoshi and feel attacked by my opinion: NO I am not trying to cancel you, I am simply putting my PERSONAL opinion out there cause many ppl have different perspectives on it. Y’all are not being oppressed bffr, at worst you’ll get called weird lmfao. Respectfully I would also appreciate any genuine opinions as an answer. These are all things i have personally EXPERIENCED self proclaimed fujos do, I’m not complaining about hypothetical scenarios or fighting w the air
I know this topic is hella dragged atp and there will probably be no mutual agreement on what is right/ wrong but regardless I wanted to at the very least give my take on it. Personally I don’t think women consuming yaoi/bl is inherently wrong. Even if it’s a large amount of what they consume, I can definitely understand the appeal even to someone of the opposite gender (and sexuality in some cases, hi lesbians ) however there is definitely a fine line where it gets strange. The line being when women obsess over the sexual aspect of yaoi, that in itself is starting to seem like fetishizer behavior. I understand if you find men attractive yaoi might be arousing to some extent but the obsession women have to strictly write/consume gay smut *is* fetishization. Don’t get be wrong I’m glad I get a bunch of porny gay shit even if most of it is trashy cause I’m a gay guy but it’s just uncomfortable to go to the comments and see Brittney ask if the twink is gonna bottom cause if he isn’t she’s gonna drop the series as a whole . Like you CANNOT tell me that isn’t a porn addiction atp. And honestly that’s the TIP of the iceberg when it comes to fujos cause some of these girls are defending the most vile and disgusting shit in yaoi just cause it’s fictional. Trust me I have been in a discord server FOR mangago and these girlies tried convincing me that there was nothing wrong with rape, incest and shotacon when I was 16 and they were all 20+ honestly if you personally believe fiction doesn’t affect reality idgaf go argue with a wall. But for perspective the people that defend these disgusting genres are A LOT of fujoshis. Like have y’all not seen the millions of doujinshis Japanese fujos publish. Or how the most popular jjk ship is gojo x itadori, or how popular animes like super lovers and hiotrijime my hero are. Being a yaoi fan alone is embarrassing to admit but considering yourself a fujoshi directly associates you with all this stuff and ig social media is changing the connotations of these terms but still it will forever be a associated to group of disgusting ppl to me at least. The animanga community has always been weird so honestly fujoshis aren’t much worse than your average hentai addict but still.
