Something happened to most of pirate websites?

I see earlier people talking about some pirate sites that are going down like bato and newtoki. Bato still works for me, but I need to use VPN and it's the same with this site, I need to use VPN to enter mangago when usually I don't need to. And I see it's not only happened to pirated manga/hwa sites, but also some pirated movies sites. There's definitely something going on with all these pirate sites....
