why do i feel like it’s been quite some time that i didn’t write novel experiences lmaoo i got busier irl and stopped uploading mangas/manhwas too so there’s that ㅠㅠ
this is a short novel (2 volumes and around 20 chapters - in parts) and i read this like 2 months ago so i can’t remember much but i do remember that it’s somewhat okay and not much?
where to read:
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/gold-dot/?pg=2#myTabletags; NSFW, modern fantasy, sci-fi, obsessive and possessive characters, outer spaces, AI, aliens, monsters, minor violence.
about MC (Zed); he’s a healer. he’s a pushover that’s for sure, kinda naive, too easy to manipulate and he’s a gentleman.
about ML (David); he’s kinda the modern world hero, he’s like 10% human and 90% AI/robot bcs he actually got tortured really REALLY bad when he got kidnapped as a child (his family is famous and rich so he got kidnapped for a high ransom) but the thing is he got out from there barely alive, ears tongues eyes all got cut off, they saved him using his partial part of brains that still can be saved (if i’m not mistaken) and that’s why he has to live with 90% metals on his body (it was said that his suit alone weighed like 500kg or smtg lol i forgot but it was an exaggerated numbers) so his life motives is just to take revenge for those who kidnapped him.
Summary; Zed is from another planet but got sucked into a kinda black hole so suddenly he’s at a different planet (where David at). at the same time David is kinda fancy a healer bcs he’s always has to get dispatched for outer space battles so it’s a hassle to always get hurt with his metal body yk, like one switch off and he can’t fight anymore lol so he needed a healer on deck with him, like all the time and Zed is the perfect guy for that. but the thing is Zed just wanted to go home and David won’t let his healer leave that easily so some conflicts started from there.
I’m not lying when i said i almost forgot most details about this novel bcs it’s kinda insignificant to me? like i said it’s an oookaay novel but there’s nothing special.
Honestly i barely feel the chemistry between them, their love interest is too “out of blue” and sudden but that much is expected as it’s just a short novel tho so you can’t expect much development in their relationship.
like you read it and at some point suddenly David is already obsessed with Zed, literally like huh? their beginning is not that rough but not that smooth either so maybe that’s why i feel like it’s out of place. but oh well.
the plot is meh. Zed is just trying to get home, my dude just mistakenly got transported into a foreign planet so of course he just wanted to get home asap so this is where David kinda got involved in “manipulating” the information about Zed’s planet bcs he don’t want Zed to leave him. i wouldn’t say it’s 100% manipulation tho bcs David barely did anything to “manipulate”, all he did was just clinging on Zed, got horny a lot, humped him randomly and fell in love. it’s really just that bcs he doesn’t have much personality.
maybe that’s why i always got distracted when i read this novel like even for just 20 chapters (total bcs there’s just 8 parts in total so the format is like Chapter 1, Chapter 1.1 Chapter 1.2 ect), i have to take a break in between chapters bcs i was distracted and that resulted in me finishing this novel in 3 weeks….that’s how bad my concentration is when i have to deal with a nothing special novel but still gotta finish it.
the drama is not much, you can definitely read it if you just wanted to see a yandere character and an obsessive character swings that way. it can be your leisure read without much expectations bcs i can definitely see how the author just wanted to write a short and uncomplicated sci-fi novel bcs yk how other sci-fi novel is really really complicated and complex a lot of time? yeah so the author seems like they really wanted to avoid that and that’s totally fine.
it’s a 3/10 for me bcs i got distracted a lot, it’s not that interesting for me and i just pushed myself to read it bcs it’s a short novel (but bear in mind each chapter is quite long tho and it’s one of the reason why it took me days to stomach like 2 chapters and still got distracted lol). also a side note; it’s really not bad!! it’s just not my cup of tea but i did saw some people gave good reviews on NU about this novel so it surely can be good for others tho (just not me…probably.)
read it only when you have some time to spare ^^~
