for my own sanity, I believe some of that is trolling, or edge for edginess' sake (doesn't make it that much better but i can't for the life of me understand being sincere about that kind of thing) . but yeah that's been a thing bubbling under the surface for quite some time now. some people blame 4chan/reddit emigrés, but it wouldn't surprise me ......
