KOSA Passed Committee — Call to Action
Hey guys,
I thought this group of people would be most interested in something like this. If you live in the United States, this is for YOU.
KOSA (the Kids Online Safety Act), along with a couple other censorship bills passed through committee yesterday (03/07/2026) and will be going for a full house vote (which can happen at ANY MOMENT). People were skeptical of it passing, but it’s making headway.
For those who don’t know, the bill requires you to upload your GOVERNMENT ID to access the internet and will track your internet use. Furthermore, many of the people endorsing this bill are particularly interested in censoring content online— nudity, homoerotic content, etc. The real purpose, though, is to scare you out of posting things online; such as civil disobedience (against ICE, USA diplomacy, etc).
If you want your privacy, and you don’t want the things you love about the internet to be censored, please call, email, fax, text, and visit your representatives. I’ve linked two links: one with additional information and one with a call script. Don’t just reach out once, keep doing it. They will tell you they appreciate your advocacy but they won’t change their mind— don’t let them be comfortable!!
Some representatives, like AOC, have already spoken out, but that doesn’t mean much. Our representatives, regardless of their political affiliation, vote against us. Think of their recent overwhelming vote to censor the Epstein Files, the few democrats that voted to advance the Iran attack, and the few democrats that voted to give ICE more funding.
This involves YOU: your manga, manhwa, manhua, fanfictions, tiktok, tumblr, discord, EVERYTHING!!
They already passed some of these bills in Australia and the UK; Australia banned anyone under 16 from accessing social media (Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, Twitch, Twitter, YouTube, Snapchat, etc), for example.
