Talking to your dad

Ive asked way too many questions here but mangago’s community is just so helpful I cant stop asking… Anyway, so I’ve been wanting to do an exchange year and I have to talk to my dad about it. But the thing is, I barely talk to my dad, like at most I say 2 sentences to him in a day and sometimes I don’t even talk to him. It’s not like my parents are divorced its just he probably doesn’t care that much about me. Going back to the main point, how do I ask him for this without making it awkward and actually convincing him?

oh hey again! i hope your efforts of convincing your parents have been going in a successful direction I'd say walk up to him. begin with smth you would usually say to him (even if you guys do talk to each other less, you've mentioned you say at most 2 sentences, say smth similar) or along the lines of a basic "hey dad can I talk to you for a sec" ...... 1 reply
