I'd like it if I didn't have to wear glasses anymore. They're such a pain, but my eyesight is so bad that I can't do without them.

You can tell him how you really feel about him. Like, how you like him platonically, not romantically. If he feels sad after that, tell him that you are ok with being friends rn. Also, maybe take some time to think over how you really view him and give him an honest answer.
