I accidentally got a bit of NOT transparent water on my mouth while swimming on a pool, so I say my color is 10% opacity brownish yellow :3.
(THAT POOL WAS LESS THAN A 5 YEAR OLD DEPTH, YET I COULDN'T SEE THE BOTTOM?!?!?!?! HUH?!?!?!?!
And the weird thing is that is not like it was brow or any color in particular just not transparent AT ALL)

If you're in an important position like you mentioned I think (at least what works for me) is doing your best, not to impress or gain the "love" of those ppl, but to know that is not anything you lack in skills and it's just them and their personal opinions

I can only have an opinion on this if you say who is the character.
(Also I'm no expert on what it is to be aromantic but I think is normal to have fictional crushes, like I Know some straight dudes that salivate like fountains at the sight of any Gyro panel)

Take your time looking at the face before you start drawing it, and you can take note of what you see and want to draw.
Also I recommend sketching a little before going for the paint so you can warm up and have a little bit more practice whit the face.

Kinds unrelated-
For me and most ppl I know, its either watch a movie in an illegal site or don't watch it at all. If the website I get the movies gets baned that won't make any more money it would just limit the ppl that watch the it.
So that's why I don't understand the though that banning these sites will make more money, arent most ppl in this......
