She’s still planing to run away. Zahid is aware of this. That’s why they make a bet, which one would win. Zahid wants to make Ertha fall for him to make her not to leave him, but when Ertha confesses, he isn’t satisfied because it seems Ertha still wants to run away.
She makes a negotiation with Niacal (another kingdom where the earth wizard lives) secretly from Zahid, to give her and her younger siblings to stay when she run away.
she also makes an agreement with Princess Diana (the princess hates royal family so much because they’re all mad, and I can confirm IT’S TRUE, they’re all mad, that’s why Diana wants to destroy them). Her plan is helping Ertha to run away. She will accuse Zahid as Aurantium’s worshiper (which is not allowed), then if Zahid who was a strong person in the military for the Empire is gone, she thinks Niacal will wipe out Bahalun Empire

from the start it was hinted that the whole relationship was toxic, I didn't know why i had hoped for them to fall in love for real
the spoilers made me depressed
