Father.

he's the villians father and im assuming thats how she knew him when she read the novel dso it just stuck ig

they didn't explain it well but in the story she read about his character, he didn't have a name, he only has a title which is "father" which is the father of the villain since he was mostly a side character that died early. so she basically using this title "father" for a while, not actually calling him a real father.

to be more specific, when someone has a kid in korea people often call them by "*child's name* appa (dad)/eomma (mom)"~ for example if a kid is named minsoo they will call the dad "minsoo's appa" so she is probablly used to calling him so-and-so appa and thinking of him as the father of the villain in the story she read
