The ending is not 'that' sad. It's more like relief, angst, and bittersweet ending if I must say. KDJ is not a regressor nor a past comrade. HSY can be a regressor but likely like a time traveler just for someone else if you already read the novel and she is the author. More than that, its a fun and adventurous with hardship story to read! Am literally waiting for the 'party' in the sky if you know what I meann-
I- Dead inside- :"D well it is open-ending, so I'm assuming that the author wanted us to use our iMaGiNaTioN But honestly I haven't read the novel ending myself (spoilers only) so all I want is that Kim dokja company to be able to be with KDJ again in the end, even if it doesn't show what happens afterwards (like daily life after everything ended and stuff). Also there was this reddit user who explained the ending, dk if its accurate or not but if it is, then its the most satisfying ending for me TvT: (Spoilers ahead)

"kimcom tried to save dokja by going back to the final wall after regressing into a new turn together, but only came out with a fragment of dokja's soul, thd millions of other pieces reincarnated to other worldlines as different ppl, not dokja. kimcom then write the novel ORV (the one we literally read) & send it to other worldlines so that the reincarnated dokjas could see it, love the story, then use the power they have of the most ancient dream to create the ending they want with an intact dokja coming back to them. the end shows them as the system's power becomes obsolete in their world & everyones losing their powers, but dokja's stories came back to his body in their world & they all rush to meet him"

I read that this is their 1864th regression and that in the previous one YJH loses a part of his memories. Can anyone pls tell me is KDJ and HSY are also regressors and YJH past comrade or something? I read that HSY is the author and KDJ is his sponsor
I am hesitating to read the novel because I heard that the ending is sad......
