The ending is not 'that' sad. It's more like relief, angst, and bittersweet ending if I must say. KDJ is not a regressor nor a past comrade. HSY can be a regressor but likely like a time traveler just for someone else if you already read the novel and she is the author. More than that, its a fun and adventurous with hardship story to read! Am literally waiting for the 'party' in the sky if you know what I meann-

I haven't read the novel either and also cant handle tragic endings but I would say ORV is diff. My impatient ass spoiled myself with the ending and all im going to say that its not exactly sad or tragic, its more like an open ending ╮(￣▽￣)╭
