What's the problem if they're not submissive? What's wrong with that? Why do you have to that anyway? And why is it pissing you? Ofc, I don't have a say in this but, it kinda lowkey offends me coz I'm overly masculine and dense. Ofc you're free to judge things from you perspective. No hate intended.

Are you saying that this isn't a "feminine" personality? I think it might be better depicted as a character who's too caught up in the idea that she's the only person she can depend on in this story and she's forgetting about the people around her. It's not a question about being submissive, it's about having the security to be able to charge forward and protect those under your care. The current arc is just her learning to recognize the ties that other people have with her, not just her emotional ties with other people.

Nope I didn't question her feminity lol
In terms of being submissive, I was referring to the animosity she is feeling towards Nine since the awakening. Like, she's clearly felt something for Nine before even if it was the slightest sign. How hard is it think that her friend and butler wants to protect her as well? I know this isn't a romance heavy webtoon but after the annoying "male leads" have gone the realizing the errs of their way I kind of became disappointed in the series and the new misunderstanding thing is boring the shit out of me

I’m pretty sure she knows that Nine wants to protect her. Her macho-defiant behaviour likely stems from hurt pride, since up until this point she’s planned and managed stuff alone. As someone who strongly prides in being independent, suddenly having a helicopter parent (Nine’s over-protectiveness) is understandably irritating; to her, it seems like he stopped trusting her skills and started coddling her like she regressed into a toddler. I’m not saying she should be excused for her actions—she should definitely be more considerate of Nine’s feelings—but I get where she’s coming from. She’ll likely learn some empathy in the upcoming chapters anyway, so mayhaps that’ll irritate you less :)

See it like you. The Problem for me is that at the beginning it Was pretty cool but now she must protect the others. Sometimes i just wish that she would be protected.
I feel like she cant relaxe and have a cup of Tea. She always needs to train and if not she needs to Discuss with Nine because hes to dumb to let Melissa do her thing. Happy that she is strong but dont overdo it...

But i dont think she needs to be fully feminine. Its just that it seems like she is forced to act strong like a man.
She enyoied romance novels in her previous life but she cant talk with anyone about it. And honestly she propably had other Hobbys than that or just Talked girly to her Friends. I dont see anything like that in the webtoon...

I can see where you are coming from. But even when talking about hobbies, reincarnated Melissa is a woman of modern society - a lot of things she may enjoy may seem "masculine" in the traditional society she's in; in the festival scenario, for instance, Melissa aces all of the games which is presented as a shock to the characters around her.

those moments aren't even what i was considering when i called her forced masculine. It's the times when she purposefully shoulders everything just cause she knows the previous story. I liked Melissa's character in the beginning, it was refreshing how she dealt with the male character but in the later chapters it just started to go down since the crown prince was showing signs of crushing on Melissa like please anything but the harem. can we please go back to parodying gags, cute nine, shrewd yona and angry malding queen melissa urgh
Melissa's "I'm the strongest" chara ran dry as soon as she started being the unsolicited protector for Yuri. Fucking hate forced "tomboys". Like it's okay to be a little submissive at times. Her overly masculine character design and increasingly annoying behaviour kinda lowkey pissing me off. Why can't she wield a sword and be feminine??? What pick me shit are these rebirth novelists on? Jeez
