I'm a writer. I write stories. My characters aren't portraying real people, they are a figment of my imagination. Unless the story is based on a "true story", the story and the characters are fictional. Matthew and Jin don't exist in the real world, they are fictional characters. They can't get hurt or offended. Readers are only hurt and insulted on their behalf.

And you really need to see the difference between fiction and real life. People get obsessed with characters all the time, not just yaoi-characters. Sure there are some deranged people who think they are married to some anime characters, but most people see the difference between real life and the made-up anime/manga-verse.

And if you see it logically. If you are, like me, a straight woman and is attractive to just men, of course, it makes sense that I want to read stories about two men rather than a man and a woman. Women don't interest me at all. And people have been reading erotic stories since ancient times. It's not as if it's something new. Kink shaming isn't okay.

First of fetishizing isnt a kink. Even if you are reading a fictional story its not right to say its okay to fetishize because the characters arent real. Thats not an excuse! I get that you are a straight woman and you are attracted to men but how is it logical to now prefer gay relationships to straight ones? + if you are reading a straight story its not like you are obligated to be interested in the woman. I never said its wrong to read yaoi as a straight woman im just saying its wrong to fetishize it regardless if its fictional or not because being gay isnt. I really dont understand your logic here.

I never said yaoi is fetishizing gay men, i was just asking if that comment was because it made me feel like it i was probably overreacting as i've said. You dont need a gay relationship to fetishize you can also fetishize a gay person on their own! Hope this clears up the misunderstanding.

Well, let's agree to disagree. I don't understand your point of view, and you don't understand mine. I love a good story, I love reading about manly men (bara is the best) and I like smut where both partners are equal and not weak. Switchers are awesome. You usually don't see that in cis stories. Well, that's just my point of view of things. And I got an ok from my gay cousin to like yaoi. So it's all good to me.
