I know they get tested in elementary school for the secondary gender but what about their main gender? The more to it is that it recreated the (sadly) normalized and romantized relationship dynamic of cishet couples where the woman is submissive to her partner and in turn gets protected, cared for etc. But reality isn't actually that nice so reading stories where women aren't featured in any major way is a safe way to indulgence in that fantasy.

Omegaverse isn't based on cats it's wolves is it accurate no but the origins take place during a time when the popular understanding of wolves was very very different it comes from a werewolf supernatural fanfic where the writer just wanted one person in their ship where both were cis men to be able to eat pregnant all the other features occur through people just adding features for drama and then these features for really popular things like pheromones and biting/claiming etc it's basically like the SCP universe where everyone created their own things and the most popular parts of the au stuck and became "canon" incredibly simple

The dom sub universe came after when the mainstream started becoming more ... aware of BDSM culture people took aspects of omegaverse they liked and applied it to a bastardized version of BDSM and then made it natural because everyone loves the soul mates thing

But honestly I tend to avoid anything that shows pointy ears, I also avoid omegaverses as much as I can and I wish I could know before starting it for this new BDSMverse because things that aren't a minimum coherent irritate me.
