It's an unwritten rule. BL features relationships between men. GL features relationships between women. The main couples should be gay or lesbian. Here, the main male characters are not together. They are still "fucking" women. It's annoying

Very rarely. 1 out of millions. Meanwhile, "BLs" or "GLs" include bisexuality left and right. "Only gay or lesbian for you" is a common trope for a reason
i’m just gonna say that’s probably bc when categorizing it into a binary (which i think most tend to do…) the two categories are either straight or queer/lgbtq+ so one’s not gonna be as diverse as the other, while the other is more inclusive. also a lot of these yaoi and yuri stuff is fetishizing… so they just wanna see two ppl of the same sex fuck without caring for actual labels and that’s probably another reason why it’s not strictly gay or lesbian.. bc the ppl who write it don’t care abt representation… which sucks yk :/ so i get the frustration on that common trope you talked abt. it’s almost like the authors don’t want to acknowledge established homosexual identities or diverse identities at all. (it seems like it’s censorship too)

idc tbh its just the fact that women get thrown around like holes for the ML and its quite common in bl (that or they make them unlikeable and annoyng to get in the way of the main couple) , i would've like it better if they introduced a woman with importance in the story and then incorporated her in the smut, instead of throwing a random girl with no name around like they always do, this is plain unneccesary with no importance in the story and for ''shock value'' not for bi representation -a bi woman
men get thrown around like holes in bl too, especially in stories like these. there's fetishization left and right in bl, male on male rape is more common in bl than it's not. you can't call it 'just for shock value' when the story is such a dark and gritty one. it's kinda what you sign up for. -a bi man

Authors, artists, and fans of any media, "straight" or gay, are too interested in the private lives of other people. If you are supporting bl then I assume you also support lgbt+ community also. So here also we have characters who have different sexual orientation. And there's no such rules that bl and gl should have gay and lesbian couples only respectively.
