Caelus’s choice was not not a matter of him “picking his ex lover” over Hestia. I feel like you don’t really understand his character if you assume that, and I’m not saying that to be rude. I already said this somewhere else, but I will just say it again here:
I have seen so many people with this perspective and I find it hard to understand, but at the same time I can see where you’re coming from. I was genuinely surprised with the amount of people who had an issue with Kaelus and his decision. I am sorry, but it would be inconsistent with his character, who thinks of the Empire as his position as Grand Duke, to do something for a revenge that he wasn’t exactly pursuing himself. It was all Hestia, and Caelus was going along with it. Just because he does not want Diana to be deposed, it means he does not love Hestia? That is such an outrageous claim. Caelus already knew Helios’ and Diana’s relationship was on the rocks, I am sure he knew that they were eventually going to get a divorce, which is why he didn’t do anything. Even then, for him, his happiness is pretending that the two of them don’t exist and living a normal life with Hestia. Why does that make him a bad person? He is nonchalant about their affairs, and so what? He is the one who was hurt by them, not Hestia. It’s his decision about how they end up, and they made it. If anything, Hestia’s crisis over Caelus not wanting some dramatic form of revenge was even more ridiculous to me than him not wanting Diana deposed. He already saw the cracks within the house, it was going to collapse eventually,

I don’t really understand people who are mad at Caelus when he didn’t particularly desire this revenge in the first place. It was Hestia who was doing everything of accord when the one who was hurt was in fact, Caelus. I think that many people are not really trying to look through the perspective of Caelus and sympathize with Hestia too much. He was the one who was hurt. He is the one who decides how he deals with them. The choice of not having Diana deposed was not to choose his ex unrequited love… No, it was because he was thinking of the Empire and doing his duty as Grand Duke. Caelus says something like this in the novel, that he just wants to be indifferent to them and not care about how Diana and Helios live their life. He knew that they would eventually ruin themselves on their own… To him, the best way to live was not caring about them and living a normal life with Hestia, throwing them away. He does not feel anything for them. Not love, not hatred… But indifference. To me, isn’t that a better kind of revenge, showing the people who did you wrong that you do not care for them and living a happy life on your own by the side of the one you love? That is what Caelus was doing. He didn’t need any grand gesture of revenge in order to feel satisfied. I do not think we should only think of Hestia, and Hestia’s revenge. Because she was not the one who almost killed herself because of them. Caelus is the victim here. We need to take Caelus into account and try to see through his perspective instead of blaming him for doing something we didn’t like.

also need this confirmation lol i want the gratification of Kael realizing his mistakes and how much he hurt Hes and for Hes to not just immediately forgive and simp for him.
I read a spoiler but idk if i recall it correctly or if it was this particular arc that it happened where Hes stood over the balcony and contemplated going back to her world, and Kael panicked thinking she meant to jump because of what he did.
can anyone confirm what happens after Hes finds out pleaseeee

I totally understand where you are coming from! But you know that disappointment when you are expecting something and something else happens! It's exactly that. Majority were expecting to kael to stand in Hestia's side or at least talk with Hestia as to why he supported Diana. Boi didn't do any of these. And people feel more bad at this instance because as reader we know Hestia saw Kael's death in her last life (which kael doesn't know) and when she is doing everything she could for Kael, he comes out supporting the reason for his death(again, kael doesn't know). So as a reader, we feel disappointed because of what we are shown and not because we think from this or that's POV. but when you think from kael's POV, he doesn't want revenge because simply doesn't want to get associated emotionally any more than he already had. Hestia wants revenge because of what she has seen and gone through..

Ok so here's my issue y'all. I agree that Hestia is too obsessed with Kael and getting revenge for him and that Kael should be the one who decides whether or not he wants revenge. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE KINGDOM????? Are you seriously telling me that allowing Diana to hold the empress seat is good for the empire and the people in it??? She breeds resentment towards the lower class and increases class division. Instead of trying to boost the local economy or trade with other nations, she kneecaps it (in fact that comment about giving the soap away for free is literally how you destroy jobs and an economic sector). If others don't follow her strange code of morals and principles, she ostracizes them and uses her power against them. She's pretty much Mother Theresa (also a well-documented horrible person- who was hella hypocritical and only helped those she deemed 'worthy'). Also, in chapter 9 it talks about how after Diana became the crown princess she stopped helping people with her saintess powers. So despite having the power to save people, she purposely didn't (unless they had some sort of direct connection or benefit to her ie. the king). Honestly, this is probably one of the reasons why Hestia is so fixated on revenge because Diana indirectly caused her death by refusing to provide her with life-saving treatment (because she was 'too busy' having her bland-ass tea parties). Finally, when her powers started to waver/disappear, she hid them and put the king's life in harm's way (if she was a doctor, I would go for her license because wtf). This b*tch is DANGEROUS. Sure Kael can ignore her and 'take the mature route' of not dethroning her but that's only because IT DOESN'T DIRECTLY AFFECT HIM. What about all the commoners and empire citizens who suffer under her?? Idc if you no longer have beef, she's an absolute menace to the kingdom, how can Kael claim to care about the kingdom and then allow her to stay on the throne?!
I skimmed through some chapters of the novel, and even ended up reading some chapters of the novel cause curiosity got the best of me and I read most of the spoilers on the comment section. I just had to...
THOSE WHO HAVE READ the novel? What are your thoughts and feelings to the story??
Maybe I'm a little disappointed. (im sorry!) it's a good story and a good read for sure. But I'm left with a little dissatisfaction at the fact that...
KAEL decided to save Diana from getting scrutinized and dethroned. Like idk... I understand the reasoning behind it. But Idk... It just left me feeling a little salty, bitter and childish! Sighs* BITCH ass Diana even tried to flirt with him. I will pull off her hair strands with my BARE Hands!!
Maybe the one reason why it irked me was because I wanted KAEL to stick out with Hestia through thick or thin, be ride of die partners. But GOSHHH I'm a little infuriated with it. if helio begged Hestia and Kael to save Diana, then i would've been okay.
But without proper communication Kael was the one to tell Hestia that he wouldn't be dethroning Diana without even letting her know that it was because Helio requested him to. Hence, MAKING HER MISUNDERSTAND! Made me felt like he chose his first ex love over Hestia his girl. Like ughhh!!
At the end of this arc Hestia felt like she hated KAEL for a hot minute. That's how I'm feeling too. ╥﹏╥ sigh*THE SWEET REVENGE I WAS HOPING FOR DOESN'T seem SWEET.
Ps : (Maybe it just my mood swing talking because of my cycle but goassshhh!!)
