Tbh I feel like it's been going down since the intro of her brothers and dad
Not saying I don't like the characters but I feel like it really muddled up the story bc there are like 0 stakes
I think that made it the most interesting, also unique compared to those usual stories. Not to mention, she will actually leaves with them rather than the typical “forgive and forget all the neglect” trope
Oh yeah I agree it's unique and I like the fact our MC won't stick around
But there just doesn't seem to be any stakes for our MC now, making the story slow and plodding. Which not every story needs heavy stakes but this one kinda based itself in having them and now the shift makes it weird. Because on one hand it seems like we're supposed to care about what blonde girl is scheming, but on the other hand she hasn't done anything to crazy harm our MC (so there's no need for revenge) and if she does, our MC is plenty plenty protected.
Like if our MC cared about staying with the emperor (which I'm glad she doesnt) then maybe blonde girls schemes would matter, but they don't really have an effect on our gal as is
Oh, I get that! I do also think plot is a bit… dragged? Like tbh I just want the emperor to meet her biological father and for the battle of custody to begin
