To be honest, I have now read about 400 chapters of the novel and the author has introduced the events and how the characters fall in love very well (it doesn't "suddenly" happen but it's a slow build up until they even have their first intimate moments and also confess their love to each other). furthermore, the mc doesn't use ml, he wants to achieve his goal by changing the past and all his bad decisions. (furthermore, the synopsis only scratches the surface of the story, as the mc slowly notices over the course of the story that not everything appears as it did in the past [!!spoiler!! he has many gaps in his memory that he never noticed after the ml's death but they are now slowly becoming apparent after his rebirth. Therefore we cannot fully trust the mc's narration when he reports on the past, especially about ml!] Also he didn't kill ml for a "goal" he wanted to achieve but it was an order from the emporer). I just wanted to briefly give my input as an avid reader on your reason for not reading, because to be honest, Turning easily became my number 1 among all the novels I've ever read so far, because Turning is a great and comprehensive book that has all my favorite genres, amazing characters and world building. nevertheless, it is your decision if you don't want to read turning because of the synopsis (which is too bad ...). Also sorry for my bad english!

Your english is very good, even better than mine. So don't worry. x))
I am the first inconvenienced by the fact that I won't be able to fully enjoy such a good work.
Even if he didn't plan to "use" him and "it was an order from the emporer", it was still his decision to comply. If not why wouldn't he do the same thing in this new chance at life, because he simply can. So it is his choice at the end.
Making so all his bad decisions have few or even no consequence on the life he now has gained feels totally unfair for me, especially since he'll now be counting on the person he himself chose to betray. And a romance on top of that?
Maybe for all the readers, the first life doesn't count. But for me, these facts are a major let down.
In my mind killing someone is worse than rape. As I can hardly accept a romantic relationship between a victim and its raper. So this seems to me even worse. Even if it hasn't happened in this new life, and won't happen. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth already.
It's all subjective. Some people might not care about it as much, and I would really want not to care, but I can't. x))

You relating this assassination to rape is INSANE to me?? Like literally, wtf. Also Mc in past life was a dog for the emperor. Just following orders so mc wanted to achieve, literally nothing! And when mc wanted to achieve something, like saving their dying world, he was executed on false charges. That's basically the plot, mc trying to save their world and his best chance of doing that, is the ml. Mc just realizing the feelings he and ml shared since the first life along the way. Also the fated mates trope is strong in this one which is why Kishiar is the ml.

But it's even worse for me, how could he assassinate his fated mate?
Oh so is it insane that murder is worse a crime than rape? It's annihilating a living person's life for good!! People can't come back to life in reality. That's why it's the worse.
Being the emperor's dog or whatsoever doesn't change any thing... Was he brainwashed? Or forced in anyway, I mean was he threatened trying to save a family member or a loved one? If not he has no excuse.
I am aware that with some stories about rebirth and transmigration, the value of a life has somewhat dwindled.
But I'm just making a paralled. Just as people who can't stand reading about rape to lovers. I find myself hardly into murder to lover. Especially since he has no excuse for doing so but worse, they were supposed to be fated mates from the start?? What kind of unfeeling monster is this????
People are this apathetic in life don't magically become lovestruck.
I understand it is the author's way to create some drama, and I find it utterly ridiculous and forced. This just doesn't make sense for me. X)

You reaching for excuses to dislike a character that you've branded off of your own interpretation instead of listening to people who explain to you a smidgen of a characters personality or scroll for a few seconds to find out more. If you're so adamant about your own interpretation of a synopsis and a character's personality that you know nothing about, just don't read ig. Like door is wide open.

lmao, I read every comment and review on the novel and skimmed through all the chapters and read the last few. And I'm still waiting for someone to give me a plausible reason for him to kill his fated mate so that I can enjoy the story. x))))
cuz I really want to trust me, the reviews I read and all that praising the story are very encouraging, but this detail really blocks me. That's why I'm just looking for a simple reason... was he even forced? x)

And yet all you have are still just preconceived notions that you firmly believe in.
Yea, he was ordered by the emperor at that time who is currently the crown prince. Ml was under suspicions of treason, which he confirmed there were plans of, which is why the emperor ordered the people suspected of treason to be assasninated. Mc warned ml that talks of his treason were spreading and it would soon reach the emperors ears, but ml brushed off mc's concerns. The emperor in the first life is a manipulative gaslighting bastard who only wants more power and uses anyone to achieve his goals.
Mc was always the one being used. Which answers your og comment about mc using ml for his goals. Mc literally did not have any goals, everything he had, his status as the new Commander, expensive jewelry and riches, was forced onto him even though he was just a training nut who trained his powers in the corner.
If its still his choice in the end, then sure, believe he has no excuse and is still an emotionless murderous monster. I don't know what plausible reason you're searching for.
You're describing mc as apathetic, when if you've just read the manhwa or the novel instead of analyzing everything from a simple synopsis, you would find out pretty quickly what personality the mc has.
Kishiar and Yuder have always had feelings for each other even in the past life, but could not say it freely since, ml kept his distance and did not tell mc about any of his plans, and mc was like 21 when he was thrust into a life of nobles when he was just a farming commoner who lived with his grandfather. Mc literally did not know what the feeling in his heart was when he stared at ml's red eyes.
He is just now realizing in his second life what all the intimate moments they briefly shared meant. And this is a world where second genders are new to everyone, no one knows what a fated mate is. They don't magically become lovestruck. If you've just waited for the manhwa to update or read the novel, there are literally flashbacks where Yuder wonders and explains where his feelings started and if they were reciprocated, because he has gaps in his memory and holes in his soul, he is an unreliable narrator.
And the world is on the brink of collapse, if he does not support Kishiar, who he thinks is one of the best people to have/ lead the world away from its demise, they would all just probably die.
Honestly, if you've just actually read the story instead of baselessly declaring the mc to be an emotionless murderous monster, where you miraculously figured out the entire personality of a character from a synopsis, we would not be having this conversation.
All your questions would literally be answered if you've actually just read, but I guess a synopsis is enough to accurately identify a character's entire personality. Wow you're amazing like that huh?
If you still kept this opinion even after reading I literally would not have cared, but you're saying all this when you've just skimmed? Okay.
I don't think any reason would placate you and make you enjoy this story if the murder would always be in your mind, if so, you're better off dropping this.

I also think so, thank you for taking of your time to explain all of this to me.
I still can't see mc as a victim, not the ml as the one at fault.
From your explanation, it's clear the emperor was in the wrong, but the mc still chose to do what the emperor ordered him.
If he had such a close relationship with the ml in his previous life (I saw they were even having sex x)) even if not as lovers, but as friend, the mc would betray his friend and kill him? He knows the ml. And he isn't a 5 year old, he knows what is wrong and what is good. He doesn't know what is sex? Well if he was raped by the ml and wanted revenge, I can accept that
Following what you say, people who kill someone following orders are excused simply because they are following orders??
It wouldn't have bothered me if he barely knew the ml... but clearely not.
But the thing is, from my pov, the ml is the victim. And mc far from being the innocent dumb country boy.

Yes, sure, mc is a cold blooded murderer who stabbed poor little weak ml in the heart So just drop this since ml was murdered in cold blood by his fated mate which you dislike. If only you can block a manhwa from this site to help your selective reading that fuels your gleaned concept that mc is a terrible, unforgivable person, which is all that you can conclude from all the replies. The unexcusable murderer should not be given the time of day by people like you

"Sarcasm refers to the use of words that mean the opposite of what you really want to say."

You're welcome.

No, because spoilers...
ML wanted the mc to kill him so that the emporer won't dissolve the cavalier and for the emporer to trust the mc, but even if the mc didn't kill him he wouldn't have lived for long, since the ml had a condition (and he would have died in maybe 2 months at most because of it, which is why the ml even made this plan to be killed). And in the second time lap the mc made some different decision/life choices since he didn't want his second life to have the same ending. But unknown to him (he didn't know of ml's condition or how ml came to have this condition) one of his different choices had the result that the ml wouldn't end up with the same condition . And honestly how the author describes all these happenings (like the romance aspect between mc and ml for instance) don't happen suddenly but are slowly introduced in the story and everything in the story plays an important role which is why it even happens at all (and this is why Turning is my most favourite book at the moment).
I came here all excited after reading the synopsis and finding out this novel had a manhua adaptation. But then it sunk in that, after he had a sexual/romatic (idk) relationship with the ML in his previous life, he killed him to achieve whatever he wanted to achieve, and after his reincarnation, he STILL wants to use the man. (without killing him this time cuz now he'd be more useful alive ofc) I'd have no problem with that, if the man wasn't supposed to become the ML. With all that mix of (I'm guessing) "suppressed guilt" and maybe a bit of "pity", I can't believe that kind of relationship will fare well, or feel genuine to me. With that cold and unfeeling face of his to boot, it makes it all the more hard for me emphasize with this MC, and later cheer for the "romance", which is the biggest reason I wouldn't be able to pick up this work in the end. ^^'
They could have used any ML, why choose one he used and threw away (stabbed with his own hands)?
Life is so sad, and I thought I'd found something good to read and enjoy for once. That's too disappointing. x)
Like an insightful famous actress has said "Weird... Weird." Nothing else to add. ^^
