... What?
Sejin is a thief who belongs in prison. He is a terrible person. He has no redeeming qualities at all. Every single time he's given a choice he always chooses the selfish option. He has never once thought of anyone but himself or done anything for anyone but himself.
He stole from his husband because he thought he would benefit from it. He thought he would be rewarded by his family for stealing so he stole. He knew it was wrong, he knew it would deeply hurt his husband, he didn't care because he thought he would be rewarded.
He hid the theft from his husband even after he found out he wouldn't be rewarded because he thought he could get more out of his marriage if his husband didn't know. He knew if he told his husband about the theft his husband could mitigate the damage but he didn't because he thought he would benefit more from not telling him. He knew telling his husband would be the best thing for his husband but he thought not telling him would be better for himself so he made the choice that was better for himself. He always makes the choice that's better for himself.
We know everything I just said is true because we see Sejin's thoughts clearly. That's exactly what he was thinking when he did those things.
Sejin has not once in this entire series done anything for anyone else. He has always done the most selfish thing that he can in every situation.
That doesn't mean he deserves to be raped. He deserves to go to prison. No one deserves to be raped. All of the torture that's happening to him is undeserved, no one no matter what they do ever deserves to be treated like this. He just deserves to go to prison and to live the rest of his life alone because he is a terrible person.

Have you ever heard of unreliable narrators? Sejin has always done everything he's done because he wants to be loved and have a family. Even if his family is awful he would have trusted them more than his husband who's he's known like 2 months and sees maybe twice a week. Selfish my ass, he's desperate. He feels incredibly guilty when he does this too. He's put in an impossible situation and he's scared. And as we see in the first timeline he has every right to be. Istg this better just be rage bait I fell for cuz I refuse to believe you actually believe this.

This is so one sided bfr "selfish"?! Sejin is selfish? Calling Sejin selfish completely ignores the trauma that shaped him. He wasn’t just some greedy man chasing rewards he was a child abandoned, adopted into an abusive household, and constantly told he was worthless and defective. Every action he takes is rooted in that lifelong hunger to finally be loved and accepted by the only family he had left, even if they were toxic. Wanting love and trying to survive in such a cruel environment isn’t fckin selfish it’s human. he made mistakes yes, but to reduce him to “a thief with no redeeming qualities” is unfair. His choices were born out of fear, manipulation, and desperation, not malice. Condemning him without acknowledging the abuse he endured strips away the nuance of his character and the tragedy of his story, is just pure maddening

I get your point of view, but self-preservation is not a malicious act. It doesn't make you a selfish person, if you try to lookout for yourself in a world, where nobody else does. Even if you end up commiting a petty crime as a result. He didn't physically harm anyone and he didn't do those things to gain anything other than love, attention and approval from people who treated him like trash his entire life. The only people, who really belong in prison, are both his adoptive and biological fathers.

This is the problem. This comment right here is the problem.
I didn't glaze over anything. I never excused anything Ido or his family did. I never excused anything Sejin's family did either. Sejin being a terrible person is completely separate from all of that.
Wrong is wrong is wrong. Bad people are bad people even if other people are worse than them. Hitler existing doesn't somehow make Netanyahu a saint. One wrong does not erase another wrong.
Sejin is a bad person who at every opportunity made the most selfish choice possible. He never once did anything for anyone but himself.
He stole because he wanted to be rewarded.
He didn't confess because he wanted his husband to protect him from his family.
You can make up excuses for this behavior, but we were there. We saw his thoughts. We know exactly why he did what he did. He told us he did it because he wanted the benefits. He intentionally and deliberately did things he knew were incredibly wrong and he did them because he thought they would benefit him.
People are defending it saying "he felt guilty!" But he didn't feel guilty enough to do the right thing. Even though he felt guilty he still chose to do the wrong thing every single time. People are saying "he did it for his family!" Yeah, that's literally what I said. He did it because he wanted his family to reward him. He didn't do it because he thought it would help his family, he did it because he wanted them to reward him. He wasn't being self-sacrificing for his family, he just wanted a reward lol.
When someone breaks into your house and steals everything you own they're doing it because they want a reward. When someone steals your car they're doing it because they want a reward. They'll probably feel bad about it, but feeling bad about it won't stop them and it won't get you your stuff back. They probably have a terrible home life, why would they be stealing otherwise, but that's not going to stop them and it's not going to get you your stuff back.
You all defend this man but if you were married to him and he treated you the way that he treated Ido you would divorce him and testify against him in his criminal trial.

You keep framing this like Sejin is just some random thief breaking into houses for “rewards,” but that completely strips away the context of his life. He wasn’t stealing for luxury or greed, he was desperately clawing for scraps of validation from a family that had abused and manipulated him his entire life. Comparing his trauma-driven choices to a car thief is honestly such a bad faith take. You keep shouting “wrong is wrong” while completely ignoring the years of abuse and trauma that explain why Sejin makes those choices. Also be fucking for real, throwing Hitler and Netanyahu into a BL debate is so absurd it makes your whole argument impossible to take seriously.
i lowkey only read yaoi for the ukes, and this manhwa reminds me of why i do that… sejin you deserve so much. (T_T)
