Yup. A smaller body means a much smaller amount of nutrition needed to keep that body healthy. It's a matter of energy efficiency. Lions actually sleep, I think it was, 16 hours a day, to avoid loosing energy. They also hunt in packs, and usually get a single kill per hunt.

Yeah, have you seen how fast many on the animals on the savanna are? Also, it's if they are lucky, they get a single large kill per hunt. If they aren't, well... they don't eat.
