Gilhan took his childhood goldfish even tho it was dead, he was holding onto his last friend. Suhan is like that goldfish. Gilhan crushed it and squeezed it to hold onto whatever was left of it, but in the end it wasnt meant to last long. And would eventually escape his grasp.
A dif perspective could be he was abt to live with Suhans corpse if thats what it took for them to stay together lol...
