Amon is a dragon who's only concern is his mate (Nain) its genuinely not in his code to understand human feelings it's not that he doesnt want to; Amon is basically like a beekeeper that dotes on a queen bee (Nain in this case) and surrounds her like honey and royal jelly while burning ants (literally everyone else) with a magnifying glass for funsies. He cannot understand Nains mental distress because he doesnt have emotions like that towards other beings (he also lacks humanity and empathy due to being a literal god). Nain is hyper paranoid Amon will kill him if Nain shows any type of displeasure with their customs because he deems himself "replaceable" which isnt the case cause if Nain were to be fatally wounded Amon would die aswell. Nain is also paranoid abt their servants also deeming him "replaceable" and "not as important as Amon" which is true in terms of God like stature however Nain is literally the only thing keeping Amon from murdering everyone for shits n giggles

Because while Amon doesnt understand human emotions and the concept on empathy, Nain insist on blaming Amon for everything. Like Amon could just be doing his lizard activities like sun bathing and the greedy priests act up and Nain blames Amon knowing full n well Amon couldn't be bothered in human endeavors unless its actively harming Nain bc hes not a human and just dont give a fhuk.. Nain constantly betraying him knowing that all Amon wishes for is his happiness. He refuses to accept its simply not in Amons code to treat other beings with the same compassion and gentleness he treats Nain. Not to mention Its sort of like a curse for dragons to meet their human mate turn them into a god like being and either die by their hand or end up miserable and thats basically what happens. Nain chooses Gwen romantically but cant exactly leave Amon because they're mates for life and is physically/spiritually connected to Amon. Amon is basically forced into a cuck chair he never wanted. Like i 100% get Nain aint ask for ts either and craves a normal relationship but i lowkey hate his ass. Everytime he betrays Amon or breaks his promise we get a stupid lil monolog abt how guilty he feels just for him to justify treating him like shit behind his back. I HATE THIS TWINK. Like Amon cant feel emotions like that but i see Amon as a sad little Leopard Gecko. hes depressingly lonely tbh, he spends his days by himself sundabthing or occasionally hunting, just to get blamed by Nain cause the priests are cooking up some dastardly plan . KILL THAT MF NOWWW. And i 100% get Nain is HELLA traumatized but all he really has to say is "i dont like killing or blood, can we just go live n a little cabin together" and amon would say "bet" BHUTTTT NOAUHHHHHHH. Like Nain is completely aware whatever he says goes when it comes to amon as long as it doesnt involve asking amon to treat other humans with respect. I don’t think I like anyone in this story. It was funny how Nain was upset at the thought of Gwen potentially being liked by Amon, but I heard he goes and “cheats” on Amon with Gwen behind his back. Is that not hypocritical? I hate things like this.

Everything you just said makes me dislike Nain even more. Amon is epitome of loyalty I see, and that’s what I crave although I still don’t like Amon that much. Gwen is normal but annoying as hell, along with Nain.

so just to clearify the reason why nain was upset that amon was giving attention and noticing gwen was not becuase he loves amon, its cuz hes scared that once something else catches amons eye he will discard nain, again showing nains fear of amon. I understand why nain is scared of him at first, but honestly if even after all this time he doesnt try expressing his feelings to amon, its as if he has fit amon into a permenant box and he doesnt believe anything outside of that box, pretty annoying if you ask me. I forgot to add bur I do wish this started off with Nain liking Amon, not because he has to for his own security and safety, but because he genuinely wants to and does. With how things started, I’m not even sure if he loves Amon and makes me think he just has to, a forced type.

Whereas with Gwen, it’s more free and human.

In chapter 20 or 19, why does Nain nuzzle his head against Amon’s hand? Does he genuinely like Amon regardless of how things started? I heard someone said that they were together before memories erased.

Because despite not liking and holding disgust for Amons lack of humanity there's a part of him that does love Amon, again theyre connected spiritually and physically as mates. Although Nain is horrified at Amons ruthlessness theres times he does feel comfort in his touch, like the boat scene for example when Amon takes Nain into his lap. Gwen and Nain are the more healthy ship 100% i just dont like how later on Amon is casted aside and basically only there to keep Nain alive, I'd rather Nain run away with gwen and Amon find another mate but its not possible
