I recently finished the novel so I know when josh tells him in the last chapter of novel that peter is his son and that the alpha whom he forgot was chase and then chase said "yeah I have always believed that I have slept with someone but Grayson told me it was a dog " and then josh explains that he has never slept with a dog, Grayson was just using that dog thing to make him sleep with a real person and release pheromones

The thing is chase first remembers the sex scene and then the rest so he thinks that the wet dream triggered his memories and made him remember Josh but he can't say tell Josh that he remembers him bcuz of a wet dream cuz he thinks Josh will find him weird. Josh thinks he doesn't remember the sex bcuz chase asks him who the person was that made him pregnant and Josh said "well that person doesn't remember it" and chase gets mad like "who would be stupid enough to not remember sex with YOU" . So yeah josh thinks he doesn't remember bcuz he brought it up in every opportunity that the alpha that has marked him is not aware or don't remember.
