To clarify my actual position since you said you skimmed: I don't hate people for liking BL or gay romance. My issue is specifically with the people who call het content 'disgusting' while treating gay relationships as their fetish category. The ones calling this 'hetslop trash' and saying they're 'heterophobic', THAT'S what I was responding to.
I have no problem with shounen ai or romance-focused BL. My issue is with yaoi made by women, for women, that's explicitly sexual and often full of rape/assault. And when people defend that while shitting on anything with women in it, it grinds my gears so to say.
If you're genuinely into BL for the romance and story rather than just the sexual content, then honestly you're not who I have a problem with. The 'fanatics' you mentioned who are addicted to it, those are exactly the people I was talking about.

I understand dark/thriller genres of romance that focus on psychological horror and thrill, its like watching the fuckin twilight series with a brick to your teeth, but I understand it lmao. For example I actually really enjoy Unsleep, it has copious amounts of sex but if you can ignore that, the story us actually really cute and sweet.
