A (mid) webtoon getting axed is not that frustrating, but a webtoon with a solid plot, good pairing and improving art direction being rushed due to the lack of popularity frustrate the heck out of me.

I can tell the amount of effort and love invested into creating this series. Sometimes I question how some webtoons can go up to 500 chapters, but this couldn't even sustain 100 chapters. Some commentors said it might've been more popular if it wasn't tagged BL, and I kinda agree. (E.g The summer Hikaru died wasn't as popular when it was tagged BL by scans, but it became mainstream after the tag was removed) The focus on action didn't fare well with BL readers, but the BL tag drove away many general audience that likes this kind of genre. I'm very happy this got adapted, but it's also sad there's only a few gacha-format BLs getting adapted compared to the countless BG gacha novels.

The main saving grace for me is that it's adapted from a novel, and that is completed properly.

This webtoon ended a year ago and I bought some chapters to show support. It's not much but I hope my water droplet in an ocean can go into the wallets of the creative team that brought a beautiful series into picture format.

Please don't mind me, I'm just lamenting why I'm not a rich kid that can sponsor an entire series by myself like that pair of twins in China who sponsored the Omegaverse drama(I'm ngl they are my idols). We need more rich heiresses in this genre ╥﹏╥

I like this manwha since the plot is interesting but I’m not surprised it got cancelled. Looks wise it’s not that great, the action scenes aren’t impactful, the monster designs are pretty basic, and even for a BL it’s incredibly light on the romance.

Ooooh ! I get it! you are talking about ABO Desire and their rich authors/producers ( I someday aspire to be like them; spending lavishly on stuff they like :)

    Anyways
    Getting back to this story
the recent chapter felt so out of proportion I had a hard time wrapping my head on what's going on
    I see your point
It's kinda regretful that this manhwa didn't get that level of adaptation it deserved for maybe various reasons
These types of stories are my fave kind we are so focused on the world building/plot and bl romance just happened to be there ya know
I let it marinet for a year or so to read it properly in continuation and by the looks of it I'll have to check the novel out and take a deep dive into the story and the authors

I agree with you, especially regarding the BL tag. I myself am a varied reader, so I read both action stories, and romance stories, so I didn't particularly mind the lack of romance one would associate with a BL tag - but I get why many are disappointed, BL tag has the same association as the romance tag in straight stories, aka you'd expect the story to focus on that aspect a lot more. But this story doesn't. It then also drives away people who aren't as interested in romance and who would like this series in its other aspects.

It's so difficult, I understand why there is a need for the BL/GL tags separately, but I also wish we could stop tagging series with them if their focus isn't romance, and they just happen to have queer main characters/pairings.

But also, I get your frustrations when a decent story gets axed because people don't have enough patience for things. I really enjoyed the slower pacing of the webcomic adaptation of "I'm not the villain's lover" and reading the comments I had gathered it was following the novel p faithfully. It wasn't perfect, but I like it when stories do try to adapt novels like so - it can be really frustrating to me when it feels like half the content gets cut out. I'm also a fan of a real slowburn, so I didn't mind the delayed romance. But most readers didn't seem to have the patience for it, and the adaptation got dropped in the middle. At least that one continued as it did until the end, instead of trying to rush itself for nothing. I feel like that story suffered similarly to this one, where the tags would imply a romance focus, when the story was more focused on other things (but also didn't fall enough to be considered action/adventure tags to be only fitting ones).

I kinda wish we got more stories where the focus isn't on romance alone, but the story doesn't treat it as an afterthought like in most action/adventure tags, but more that they both are important parts that develop throughout the story.

Sorry for my long rambling, haha ( ̄∇ ̄")
