1) In the novel, this scene plays out differently. Radan broke his ankle when he fell, which causes him to almost get caught in front of the fountain by Leshak. Radan dodges Leshak's hand to avoid getting caught but, ends up falling into the fountain because of his broken ankle. Then when he's in the fountain because of the moss, round bottom and broken ankle he struggles to get up which results in another scuffle with Leshak trying to help Radan and Radan trying to escape. It's at this point Radan makes eye contact with Leshak in the water's reflection. (I feel like the changed it to make the scene less violent, but it felt like they removed the tension away from the scene because in the novel the chapters reads as a high pressure, high stakes scene where Radan is desperately trying to escape only to mess up in the heat of the moment).
2) In the novel, Radan was COVERED in hand marks, bruises, bite marks and hickeys to the point that in the next chapter, when the Prince's maid, doctor and guardian knights see Radan they are HORRIFIED. The doctor heavily scolds Leshak and particularly emphasizes that the bite mark on the back of Radan's neck is so bad, it will never fully heal for the rest of Radan's life. After which the guardian knights look at Leshak with contempt and see him differently because of the violence he inflicted onto Radan. Again I feel like they changed the story to make it less violent but they still included the ML r*ping Radan??? (which is still a form of violence, so????) Tbh, I'm kind of annoyed because this novel is one of the few where the characters actually call out and condemn r*pe and violence towards a MC and the surrounding characters look at the ML with disgust and contempt for their actions. I mean they might still include it but it feels like they are watering the story down to make the ML more palatable. But, he's still a r*pist, sooooo?
The manhwa doesn't do a good enough job at conveying Radan's desperation and often makes him feel more weak than desperate. However, I felt like the Manhwa did do a better job at building chemistry with the 2nd... Lavender
