it's not really endearment but an actual term tho. in my language it's the same, we have a term for "big brother" and everyone uses that to any older male, blood related or not. but ours is not as confusing like korean do lol.
I actually know quite a lot of Filipinos that live out here where I do so I’ve come to know and love your culture!! And I’m asking them about it here st work today :-)
