why is it sick to allow a child to wear all kinds of clothes for it to choose. I think it was unnecessary for her to say "I dont care if u are a boy", because that makes it look like its wrong. But if a child prefers feminine stuff, then let the child experiment with it. And just like that, Doyun also chose his identity when he decides that dresses and feminine stuff werent for him even though he was an omega.
There is a double standard in our society where girls can freely wear masculine stuff but a boy wearing a dress he wants to wear gets called "Child abuse".
Um nope. There is a double standard where it's considered okay to identify/present as male but not identify/present as female. Also, the phrasing you chose to preface his omega status with, 'even though', implies that all omegas are, by default, feminine unless stated otherwise. But there are male AND FEMALE, not unisexual, omegas *for a reason*, so by dressing a boy up in feminine clothes you are STILL imposing your standards on that child. KTBN.
I mean personally if he was openly against her dressing him as a girl that is one thing. Then if the parents force a child to wear masculine only isn't that also forcing one's gender standards as well. As far as I know, the mom gave him both masculine and feminine clothes and when he grew up and decides to be masculine i dont see her so adamant that he be feminine. Kids grow up with alot of things imposed on them by their parents, but somehow gender expression is a "child abuse"
implies that all omegas are, by default, feminine unless stated otherwise.
Uh... isnt that the whole premise of the story. All the dudes thinking that he's an alpha or a beta because he wasnt like the feminine omega in the work place. There is a difference between feminine and female. I never said that omegas werent female.
Isnt dressing a boy to only be masculine also imposing one's standards on the child. This is why many grow up hating men who choose to be feminine. Men grow up insecure of their identity. While girls are allowed to explore all kinds of fashion, mannerisms etc, men gets shamed and some feel ashamed to use a feminine/floral scented products. Look at men's alcoholic drinks that taste like shit but still a lot of men are still insecure to even drink nicer feminine cocktails. Men get shamed for being emotional and effeminate in real life and shamed for speaking out about their abuse and not being a man about it. Why do you think the suicide rates for men are so high. We are stifling the men in the imposed gender standards that they can't keep up. And yet here you are, mad about a child cross dressing. I think you all speak from a background where you parents imposed your gender identities on you, that it boggles your mind that people can choose to do the opposite. In my opinion, I would want the mom's dialogue to be changed because in the current dialogue, she says it like its "wrong" because hes a boy. I would change it to a situation where the mom presents him with different gendered object and let him choose what he wants to do with them. In my opinion, the plot is still okay as he decides to be a masculine, alpha like male despite being an Omega in his universe where the stereotype is that omegas are weaker and more delicate like his co-worker. In terms of gender identity, it is still a good representation as it is a person, choosing to express who he is, despite society telling him that he is an omega and find it baffling that he is a buff late bloomer

In most omegaverse, omegas are looked down upon, but in this manhwa, it seems that they have the same status as betas, and alphas, so you don't see that extreme discrimination going around. Being an "omega" is not good or bad in this manhwa, it just is; kind of like if you were born a girl or a boy. With that said, there still stereotyping going on (ie they assume that most omegas are weak).
With regards to the smell, the smell doesn't really have to be sweet. It's tailored to each individual. Think of it this way: not everyone likes sweet smell, and some people like the smell of grass. In some omegaverse, a person's smell is tailored to be their mate's favorite scent, but I'm not sure if this manhwa has the concept of mate. lol
And, the uke in the later chapter admits to the seme that he is his first man. I think it's highly possible that the uke hasn't had sex before. Alpha, Beta, and Omega seems to be the gender equivalent in this manga, and the uke has a complex with him being an omega that looks like an alpha. I think that's prolly affected his psyche and attitude towards sex.

Still sticking to the manga on this one. The image shows a toddler being presented with a dress; he wasn't old enough to do anything about how his mom dressed him. He got older and developed a more masculine body and his mom finally let him be cis so you're right she stopped being so adamant about being feminine and focused instead on the omega aspect of her son.
I don't know about real life cases where parents are accused of child abuse though I can't imagine a scenario where those kids wouldn't be bullied and emotionally traumatized by other kids ( outside of Samoa, that is). I don't want to go there with this thread though. I'm focused on this manga and its lack of background on this author's version of omegaverse. If you want to talk about this I'd suggest starting a new topic.
Hmm that's some interesting insight you've got there. I didn't sense that the mc omega had any complex at all about being an omega. He briefly pondered the differences between him and other omegas, sure, but he didn't dwell on them obsessively or anything. I'm kind of surprised he didn't redo the test to see if he was really a beta after all once he reached adulthood without having gone thru heats
The real fcked up reason why men get looked down upon when they act or dress effiminate is because women are second class citizens in patriarchal societies. (Even in yaoi the men who take the woman's role/bottom/ receiving end are usually portrayed as something 'less'. I've seen several manga where 2semes fall in love but don't have sex bc neither wants to be the woman. )When women dress or behave like men they're not demeaned bc they are bettering themselves. That's a fun discussion for a women's studies class but, sadly, not for this thread.
Well there are alot of cases of parents being abused and insulted for letting their boy dress up as feminine (in this case their child wanted it. The child loved disney princesses and wanted to dress up as a disney princess for halloween). I've seen too much of that happening and I am done with the people bullying parents. there are alot of things that kids are not old enough to respond to. The key here is presenting the idea and not forcing it. Are we going to stop changing a baby's diaper just because a baby cant do anything about it? Just like that, it is the parent's responsibility to raise a baby clear of bias and preconceived standards. There are parents in the world forcing their infants to starve because they dont want a fat baby which stems from their preconceived hatred of fat people.... I like the fact that she is allowing her son to be a jock alpha type when he grew up even though she at first thought that he might be a feminine omega like her and many other omegas out there. The only issue i take is her thinking that she's forcing her son to cross dress when it could have been rephrased as a parent letting her child decide what gender identity he wants to be when he grows up instead of a comic relief of a mom wanting to force her child.
The real fcked up reason why men get looked down upon when they act or dress effiminate is because women are second class citizens in patriarchal societies.
That is very true. It all stems from hatred of femininity as a second class trait. And that is why I really hate it when I see a comment trying to insult guys cross dressing as "the end of masculinity" and "child abuse"
Hahaha, I'm actually reading ahead
I think I got that feeling from the later chapters.
They didn't really specify that he had a "complex",
but it was something that kind of bothered him. He looked like an alpha, and other alphas looked at him as an alpha, eventhough an alpha is kind of like the staple partner for an omega. At the same time, he wasn't really attracted to omegas. I think in a sense, it would be the same situation as if you were a woman who looked like a man, and other men thought you were also a men (and he never corrected them), at the same time, you were not attracted to other women, so you're kind of stuck in the middle.
One thing to note, he never corrects other people incorrect assumption that he's an alpha, because he didn't really feel like an omega, at the same time, he didn't feel like an alpha either (eventhough he looked like one). I think it's the feeling that he's stuck in a middle, like is he asexual or whatnot hahah.
All of those factors prolly played into the fact that he wasn't very comfortable with having a sexual encounter with others because he hasn't come into terms with his sexual identity.
Hmm but everyone has 2 genders here. He is still male. I can see him feeling like a male beta, he can still date, have sex, feel sexual attraction. It didn't seem like he was close enough with his colleagues to correct their misassumptions so I blew that off, but I see your point. I'd like to see the dynamic at play between him and his brothers--they're all alphas but he is built with broader shoulders...did he want to be an alpha to fit in with them? Idk. I didn't get much from the raws, but he identifies as half omega. Now that he is a full omega he doesn't seem happier or better off physically or psychologically, poor guy.

Lets start with mom, its obvious she really wanted a girl not an omega kid bc it's kinda sick to crossdress a baby boy; but she is also happy to have an omega child, why, who would wish that on their kid? Are omegas revered in this verse? The stereotypical omega was able to get a job in warehousing and that seems unusual bc they didn't discriminate, they hired him. Then there is our MC living his best life before the heat comes and fux it up. Now he gets pain, nausea, etc. and has sex twice with a guy he always fights. (I don't know if our MC hates him since he is only responding to the alphas behaviour in instigating the fights.) The doctor congratulates him for finally becoming an omega.Maybe this society really needs the omegas it has to breed and that is why this guys mom and doctor were so worried about him getting heats. One more question, was this guy a virgin for 26 years? I get he never had anal sex at least on the receiving end but no sex at all? Finally pheromones that smell like grass? Does grass smell sweet like that?
