you can NEVER remove tropes from stories, that's just the way this is, but what makes stories good despite the overused tropes is the "variation" the plot and context has. I believe the story still has a lot more to give, it's still too early to judge, wait for the damn thing to be completed AND THEN judge.

Everybody has their own opinion about stories that has genre like this. Those "people" that doesn't want this genre or story specifically should just FUCK OFF! EVERY STORY HAS IT OWN PLOT! AND IT DOESN'T EVEN ENDING YET! WE'RE ONLY HALF AND "PEOPLE" WHO WAS JUST RELYING IN HERE HAS THE BALLS TO FUCKING GIVE "OPINION" TO CREATE ARGUMENT! How peaceful is that.

You know tropes aren't just about "psycho meets good person and changed all for the sake of love" and stuff like that right? Tropes are EVERYWHERE, like how even original stories have a "Hero" and a "Villain" and how horror films (no matter how good they are) use jumpscares, those are ALL tropes/themes. Give me ONE story that does not follow a common trope or theme, up to the most subtle things, there will always be a trope. Boy meeys girl? That's a trope, Both protagonists have different personalities, that's a trope. The way authors play around with tropes will determine how good the outcome of the plot is.

That's the point, certain Tropes will most likely be overused, If you're so sick of similar tropes in other yaoi stories then take a break from reading the genre and go read something else, the premise of the story and the first chapter already says ALOT about their character, but that's just the tip of the iceberg, and as the story thickens, many things will be revealed bit by bit. But don't you think it's unfair to keep on complaining about a story that has not been finished yet? The plot of the story has been set in stone, trying to rant and complain about the development of the story even though it hasn't been finished yet won't change anything? So why bother? People CAN have opinions but update after update, people KEEPS on ranting about the pace of the story, if they're disappointed at this point then just LEAVE, stop camping in the comments and keep on coming back just to rant some more, honestly
I just searched the Magic Mountain and saw that even the author compared it to "a symphonic work orchestrated with a number of themes". See? Themes OR Tropes will never be absent in Fictional stories.

Believe me that book is philosophical consideration about life. There is difference about themes and character's thoughts about them and uncreative, repetitive tropes in yaoi which tbh in most don't make bigger sense.
Keep complaining? Lol?
How can someone compare boy meeting girl to I feel for my rapist and abuser trope.

My point is, a TROPE is still a TROPE, no matter the context. I have never even compared girl meets boy to the theme painter of the night has lol. I just stated that as an example for tropes. Why are you complaining about tropes being repetitive even though in nature, THEY ARE overused that's why they're called tropes (⊙…⊙ )
I said that you can NEVER remove tropes in fictional stories, not just regarding yaoi, if you're so damn tired of these type of stories then find another good read, rather than wasting your time trying to argue on something you don't even like in the first place.

Sigh. This one specific trope is THE MOST overused and ridiculous trope in the whole yaoi world. What's more it's sometimes very illogical or problematic trope which doesn't make bigger sense.
Imo this story had potential but now it's turning the same as hundreds out there that's why me and some others are disappointed.

And that leads us to what a lot of people are also complaining. If you don't like what you're reading, find something better and stop ranting! Shoving your opinions on other people won't make things any better. Honestly this DOES have potential, if you give it a chance and just be more open minded about the abuse ordeal as an element to make the readers more engaged and feel different types of emotions, we're still basically starting Season 2 of the manhwa, so the author still has a lot to give. But if you can no longer endure the disappointment you have for the story, then stop.

I think a lot of readers can draw a line between what's written for fiction and reality. I cannot emphasize enough that just because you enjoy a story with these kinds of disturbing elements mean that you are also an enabler of these kinds of deeds in real life. NO.
And even though abuse can be depicted in mangas not ALL of them will show a realistic representation of how it usually happens. These kinds of stories will most likely over exaggerate these kinds of elements to make it more of a roller coaster ride for the readers. Very rare does mangas show realistic depictions of rape, abuse, and etc.
However not all the time I am okay with the use of "rape" in stories, at times i feel like it's becoming more of an overkill with the excessive amount of rape to the point that it won't add up to the story, and it feels unnecessary. But Byeonduck's way of incorporating these elements to Painter of the Night is commendable, in a way that it's cohesive to the plot, it really pushes a lot buttons and it will make you feel all sorts of way. Maybe that's one of her goals, we don't know. But a lot of us are still enjoying the development and pace of the story. So stop shoving your opinions on other people, and find another manga to enjoy, clearly this ain't for you, so why bother.
wtf is going on?? i hope mangago won't be the next twitter because shit are getting serious with these people. Wtf are they doing here??? to fucking criticize every fucking story??? They even fucking argue people who just wants to read! This story has tags with it and it also has trigger warning in the summary. WHY DON'T THEY FUCKING READ IT FIRST!! Ugh I'm so pissed
