You should try reading the novel. She may seem like a bitch (actually she is) but she was 16 years old in a game of thrones setting. She didn't know batshit. The beginning of the story was in Tia's narration so people shouldn't judge her indefinitely until you've read everything. Not that I'm justifying her. Just that you'd hate her a bit less if you read some spoilers or better yet the entire novel.
I hate the mc more tho she has no sense and is stupider than a brick, if she had brains she wouldnt let ruve cry into her lap at the funeral, she making him seem like a victim when in fact she should be the one crying in someone elses. She should have way more trauma cause nothing changed besides hes a bit nicer now, how can she allow him to sleep on her and cry and than wake up in his bedroom. Gurl he raped you, at least give me some beleivable evidence that u dont just forgive him. Jieun may be bitch on the outside but I dont freakin care if shes a saint on the inside Tia keeps on letting people make them seem powerful and say horrible things to her but than acts like they are the victim.
I see want u mean, tbh I have felt that tia's has gotten real soft. At least in the 1st timeline she seemed cool and sure of herself. In this one its very obvious to see how someone like jiuen or Zena is effecting her and getting under her skin. Like damn girl remember this is politics you gotta work on that poker face. I feel like a lot us were expecting tia to be a badass knight who isn't gonna take this kingdom's shit anymore in her 2nd chance of life. But instead she's just "nicer" and while I think its great that she's bonding more with her father and making new friends she starting come off as weak and clueless with her behavior related to ruve and being a empress candidate. Its sad that her Time with the other 2 guys seems to have been cut short now just so she has to interact more with annoying ass jiuen and ruve. I also don't like that it seems she's falling for ruve again even though he's BARELY DONE ANYTHING!! Just ughhhhh noooo ! Ok I may have to accept that they end up together in the end but I am going to be so royally pissed if she ends up falling for him 1st. Nah noo I want this bastard his knees, I'm already mad that I have to watch jiuen and tia be some weird "rivalry " over ruve. Just why? I mean from what I saw in the spoilers both girls ended up losers.
Yer i agree I just want some actual connetion not forced plot convenience between tis and the bratty prince. Theres a lot more chapters so I heard so I hope the prince i gets into a situation where Tia can bond with him and there actual be more anything than a scared rich boy. Like dont get all persistent just when Tia doesnt want to marry u. Even if they do marry, i want an after of the prince and Tia miscommunication again cause they both quiet and idiots, and Tia divorces him for a guy who actually tries in their relationship. Like the red head or even the green guy would be better, cause hes at least looks after her health
it depends entirely on the reader and how they're able/want to interpret the author's words. why are readers who used to hate ruve stan him now? why are readers still hating ruve despite knowing the spoilers? you can't control a person's outlook which is why persuading someone to share your views won't always be successful. because people choose what they want to believe in and ultimately what they consider romantic. so if people choose to accept ruve and tia's relationship despite the past, there's nothing wrong about it :)
The main reason why readers went from hating to loving Ruve is because they see him as a different person from Ruve in the past timeline and the poisoning, which means he’s free from any responsibility for traumatizing Aristia since he’s “changed.” So basically, the current timeline Ruve and the past timeline Ruve are different characters to them, making their romance more digestible. I DO agree that people have different views on romance and they have agency on their opinions. But it’s funny, since you know the true severity of mental health on Lady To Queen yet not apply to it to Abandoned Empress :)
I see mental health as utmost essential in all generality. It's something I'm very passionate about but I try not to give it too much angst in fictional stories. The difference between them is that Lady to Queen basically centers on the ML's mental health but Abandoned Empress focuses on the opposing faction towards the monarchy. As much as I'd love to point out all the disorders and complexes Ruve has, it isn't the main plot. Lucio however makes a whole impact in the whole plot itself. The only reason why I was vocal with Lucio because in a broad sense he was more traumatized and I felt that. But at the end of the day I support BOTH of them with their respective empresses. Just because I have my own principles but don't apply it to fictional stories doesn't mean I neglect them. It's an time travelling isekai for a reason. I try to put that in front at all times ;)
I don’t think trauma should be measured since it’s going to hurt someone no matter what. Although the main obstacle in the Abandoned Enpress is the aristocratic faction, mental health played a huge role into Ruve and Tia’s dynamic. Ruve has an inferiority complex and plenty of issues with his family, which was why Ruve was envious of Tia since people praise her all the time. And I was focusing on Tia on the mental health issue, since you know, House Monique had fallen in the previous timeline and she lost her life, child, and hope for a new life since Ruve abused her. It’s not like Tia had amnesia as soon as she reverted back into a child, so she still had memories of the past timeline and most likely had PTSD.
And onto Lady to Queen, Rose is definitely an awful person but that was a result of being raped by her brother. But everyone knows that it shouldn’t excuse her crimes and the many people who died because of her, yet why is Lucio excused when he had the authority? I think both Rose and Lucio should be held accountable, because even though they both suffered from horrific living conditions, people still died because of them. If mental health was an excuse for, then plenty of murderers will be innocent since they also had a dark past.
The only reasons I support Lizzy and Tia to become empresses is because they’re the true rulers of their respective kingdoms and it’ll go into shit if they end up leaving. And that’s not a good look on Ruve and Lucio.
Okay, so I realized I have missing words in my repoy, so I’m sorry if you don’t understand what I’m saying. I wish we can edit replies orz. But yeah, murderers, child abusers, rapists, etc. have dark pasts, but they still traumatized other people and sadly became the antagonists of other people’s backstories. I prioritize whether they know what they’re doing is bad and repent their actions, not just the cause. There are people who have mental illnesses yet they end up being amazing people, and they shouldn’t be grouped up with the former.
Trigger Warning-----
U all make good points, I have been replied loads of times saying trauma isant the focus of this but to me that sounds so much like an excuse. The reason this gets on my nerves is that Tia had so much done to her, if the author just toned it down a bit while also making Ruve horrible it would have been better when she just made the decision to not have any sort of trauma and sugar coat the hell she went through. Just give her something other than sugar coated words and a clingy love interest, from what shes been through I wouldnt be surprised if she commited to killing herself, even in this timeline since she has to spend the rest of her life being tied to, in any time line, a toxic relationship.
I agree. I’m not sure about the author’s mindset and why they chose Ruve as the ML despite. If they wanted to make a “misunderstood good boi,” the author could’ve just made Ruve neglect Tia and then do the classic condemnation and banishment, and after that Tia would get killed by bandits from the aristocratic faction on her way out the kingdom. Not only would it make more sense for Ruve to try to make her leave and keep her safe, but it can also downplay the literal abuse he inflicted towards Tia, making it more easier for people to ship them. Idk how Ruve or Kieran would think that MAYBE Tia will try to get vengeance after being told her dad died, but okay Yuna (the author), that’s definitely a plan without any flaws :/
And I hate how these people keep saying “it’s in the past” or “he’s a different person” because Tia didn’t freaking lost her memory before reverting back into a child. She has memories of her past and that past had a huge role on Tia’s perception of this timeline’s Ruve.
It’s no wonder the ending was so controversial to the Korean audience...

I hated the prince more than this black haired girl, and why is she pretending she didn’t see Tia be murdered and cast out of society every chance the prince got. Jieun watched all the shit that went down and still has the gaul to say stop pretending you want the throne. She wasnt with Tia while growing up so how does she know she doesnt have trauma like u wouldnt want to end up with the same face as your rapist for a husband for what power, Jieun u and that bratty prince deserve each other and let me ship red boy who might be able to talk sense into Tia
