Despite being a strong delinguent from the modern world she still has the weaknesses and restrictions of a shouho protagonist.
What I like about Melissa is that she does what she really wants and doesn't get swept away or intimidated by a superior teasing prince.
Maybe I am being too harsh and expecting too much of but since I discovered Melissa/Beware of the Villainess I can't help and be critical of these female protagonists being trapped in these disempowering tropes.
Definitely. Melissa is a legend, Serina is... well, we haven’t seen much from her since there’s only three chapters so far.
I'm hoping like you, that her mindset grows and also her strength. It's good to learn more about this world, don't let others take the lead or let them think for you. I'm rooting, she has potential.

I WAS THINKING THE SAME THINGGG! I felt like something off was with this girl. I just couldn't explain it. People were saying that she's a strong female lead but... eh! I just don't see her that way.

The problem with Scarlet from "May I ask for one final thing?" is the fact that the author for some stupid conservative reasons doen't allowed her to hit the ML/bullying perfect bored prince back. No matter how many times he teases or insults her, she can't really do anything about that jerk. It 's like an unspoken law not to kick the ass of a superior ML or he is Scarlet's kryptonite!
